“Comfortable, charming, fully renovated/restored home in a gorgeous, historically rich setting! We spent a perfect fall weekend there with family and enjoyed the spacious property and local food, drinks, hiking, scenery and more! Hosts were very responsive and helpful. Highly recommend! ”

“We had 14 people stay throughout the weekend. Plenty of room to join the fun or find a quiet space. The views were stunning and kitchen was well appointed. Everyone slept wells so the beds are great. You have a small town about 4 miles away were you can pick up items you may need. Harris Teeter is 12 miles away. Great stay! Vonda ”

“Note: "Pet Friendly" only extends to dogs under 20 pounds. The park trails along the Potomac were its best feature. They start just a very short walk from the front door. The house worked out very well for us. It was sparsely furnished and some elements were slightly shabby, but it was fine as we were most interested in getting together. It was excellent value for the many bedrooms. Just don't expect a mansion. ”

“Enjoyed the delightful setting in the country. Real farmhouse (which means some mobility challenges as there are steps everywhere and uneven floors). Weather kept us from enjoying the pool, which looks refreshing. Watched deer in the expansive setting. Plenty of parking and comfortable bedrooms for 6.”

“Hilldale Farmhouse has a lot of history and beauty. We had a family wedding with folks traveling from Fl. we all wanted to stay in one place. It was perfect. What I did not realize was the porch with the two twin beds was only screened in. Since this was the case we had a couple folks sleeping on couches. Other than that it was wonderful. ”

“The property was absolutely amazing. We stayed in the guesthouse above the garage (she has a couple guesthouses on her property) and it was a wonderful retreat from the daily grind. All the amenities you could need for a short stay were there, and some personal touches really elevated the experience. We took advantage of the Adirondack chairs overlooking the river--at night with a bottle of wine, and then again in the morning with coffee from the nearby bakery. There was always a welcoming...

“This beautifully restored 1700s farmhouse is a perfect mix of history and modern comfort. The house is thoughtfully designed with both character and convenience in mind. The setting is beautiful - plenty of outdoor spots to take in the views. We saw deer and turkeys every morning! Whether you're looking for privacy or a serene escape, this property is an excellent choice. Highly recommend!”

“Waterford is far enough away from Washington, but close enough to make a weekend getaway easy. And staying at Scarlet Springs Farm for the weekend was truly the icing on the cake. And Laura and her family made our stay even better. The house is well appointed - fantastic kitchen, comfy beds, beautiful views from back deck. This is a wonderful location to visit so many interesting vineyards, farm stands, nurseries, and some very nice restaurants in Purcellville. We look forward to visiting...

“My husband and I love to travel all over the USA and this trip we took with our Golden Retriever Maebry with us. It's always a struggle for me to find a pet friendly VRBO in the Cumberland area that meets my selectiveness until I found this gem ! It's "out" which is something we prefer yet just a short 15-20 min drive to LaVale or Cumberland for groceries or restaurants.It's also close to the Deal PA trailhead of the GAP so take your bikes and enjoy a ride !
