“We had a lovely one night stay, we got there earlier than anticipated and were allowed to check in early. Great start! “Spent a pleasant night with my wife at The Talbot Hotel and we were well looked after by Craig and his colleagues. The hotel dates back to the 1600s and is very atmospheric and full of history. “Really nice pub, convenient for Ludlow and the Shropshire Hills. Winter weekend break for us, nice big clean quiet room, comfy bed, plenty of space and large bathroom. “My only critism is that it was not easy to find. I was hoping to arrive in daylight but had hold ups on the motorway so it was pitch black and although Tom Tom got me to the right place there was no indication that told me where the farm house was. “The thing about this hotel is that check in and check out is done by email, and picking up a code to get your own key. There is no reception and so no service as such. That’s not necessarily a bad thing, just took some getting used to. I would have appreciated slightly larger cups in the room and a coffee sachet as well as tea.”
