“The pros: - The location is very convenient to the Old City and Reading Terminal Market, and lots of restaurants in Chinatown. - The owner was very responsive and helpful. - There’s plenty of space. The cons: - No elevator — and 53 stairs. - Very little natural light. It’s a long narrow apartment with a couple of windows at each end (looking out on a narrow shaft). The living room, kitchen, bathrooms, and one bedroom have no windows, and the electric lights are kind of gloomy. - The apartment...

“Very nice and comfortable stay in a beautiful historic building. Having safe and secure free parking attached to the building was a major draw! Not having to worry about finding a parking spot and paying additional parking fees in the city alleviated unnecessary stress. Our stay was due to a family member having surgery with a week long hospital stay at the nearby Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. The property is conveniently located only 2.5 miles away from the hospital making it easy...

“Lot of things in walking distance. Though I was there for work and not enjoyment I could see the possibilities of the location. Mak sure to view the Youtube videos on navigating from parking garage to room. ”

“While I contacted the host as soon as it became clear that the air conditioner was not working at all and the apartment was 85 degrees and she was polite and communicative, she did nothing to remedy the situation so we got very little sleep in the sweltering apartment. She apparently contacted Maintenance but they never came. There was also a road closure that made it impossible to enter the building garage. There were also no washcloths, and the kitchen had only a few glasses and no corkscrew....

“The apartment was just as it was described, and very clean. Also the front desk folks were very helpful getting me situated. Very much enjoyed the neighborhood and so conveniently located for the work I was doing at a nearby school. Near to SPROUTS (a Whole Foods alternative) coffee shops and the exciting Passyunk neighborhood for delicious eats. Check out BARCELONA for great tapas. And say hi to Danielle.”

“We never got into this property. This review is for the host who was supremely unhelpful in finding us an alternate location. We arrived in the area and sat in front of an alternate VRBO that my son found for us for 90 minutes in the cold, until he finally finished transferring the reservation. The host (Russ) had communicated with us sporadically throughout the day with an amazing lack of urgency. Ultimately, we ended up in an entirely different location, miles away from where we wanted to be....

“The only security between my family and anyone on the street (in a rather rough-looking neighborhood) was an unlocked door to the building and a hollow-core apartment door with a simplistic key code.
