“The property restoration was very good. They put in a lot of work to decorate for the holiday. The owner was very nice and helpful.”

“Innkeeper Kerrie was kind and overall helpful. The building is beautiful. She has generally concerned about our ability to get to the third floor and helped us relocate to the coach house. One TV didn’t work in the space and the lighting in the coach house was pretty dim. The breakfast was good and she was willing to accommodate our special dietary needs. I do feel like some aspects of the house and yard could have been cleaner. Parking can be a challenge. ”

“My wife and I truly loved staying at the Aldrich House. The service was top notch!! Great conversations, great breakfast! Very clean and tidy! Owners went over and above to please. Also had a great happy hour in screen porch area. Richard and Douglas were the Bomb!! Would definitely like to do again soon.”

“As I had found that this property was once owned by my 3X great granduncles I was fascinated by the history and walked in their footsteps. As I descended the original, narrow stairs with the low hand rails I imagined the original women in their high button shoes and hoop skirts more gracefully than me maneuvering them daily. It was a pleasant step back in time with it's antique atmosphere and original structure. It was my 48th wedding anniversary and staying at a family home made it even more...

“We had a great stay for a little family retreat in off-season Galena. By renting both suites, we essentially had the house to ourself (less the kitchen proper) which was a wonderful surprise (and pleasant when traveling with kids!) Breakfast was wonderful both days and Kate did an amazing job of giving instruction and making sure we had everything that we needed.”

“Chris and Resa run a wonderful B&B! The house itself is beautiful, and if you like seeing original architectural details of historic buildings, this is the place for you. Breakfast was delicious, and it was hard to pick what our favorite meal was. After a day of shopping on Main Street, it was nice to come back to the house for a charcuterie plate and cookies (both different every day!) and wine. My favorite touch was a homemade brownie waiting for us when we checked into our room - delicious!”

“The Tiskilwa Inn is nicely restored mansion originally built in 1848. It has 5 guest rooms, all recently refurbished in the finest style. Our first night we were the only guests so it felt like our own private stately home. I want to go back so I can stay in each of the other four rooms.”

“The Inn was wonderful. The innkeepers were warm and charming. Even considering the age of the building (1890ish) it was solid and up to date.just a great two days.”
