We’ve just returned from a wonderful family holiday staying at Koin Villa Sunrise.
The villa is beautifully presented to an extremely high standard and Christos and his family are exceptional hosts who all went out of their way to ensure we were looked after.
There’s lots of space throughout the villa and the well-maintained garden and pool areas are superb. The attractive seating area on the terrace is a particularly nice place to relax in the shade when things get a little too hot and is also a great place to unwind with a drink in the evening.
What makes this villa stand out though from all the others we’ve ever stayed in is all the carefully considered little ‘extras’ that are available. There’s far too many to mention here but a quick list consists of the outdoor cooking area and drinks fridge, black-out shutters in all the bedrooms for a top night’s sleep, lots of soft towels, a good coffee machine that actually works and is easy to use, an excellent set of inflatables for the pool, quality bed linen, and excellent furniture throughout.
The main kitchen too is well-stocked with every type of pot, pan, utensil and home appliance you’d ever need, including milkshake and toasty makers which were both very popular. What’s also really nice is that when the property changes over between guests, simple everyday items such as washing up liquid, hand soap, cling film/foil, bin bags, olive oil for cooking, tea bags and any remaining herbs and spices are left for others to use rather than having to buy everything from scratch at the start of your visit; it’s then just a quick addition to your own shopping list to replace if anything is used during your stay. As my kids say, “…sharing’s caring!”.
The villa itself is situated in a very peaceful and handy countryside location a very short drive from the centre of Perama for all the local supermarkets and bakeries, as well as being only a 10mins drive from the old fishing village of Panormos which became a favourite of ours for all of the excellent restaurants; Vinzi Café overlooking the harbour at lunchtime and Kastro Cretan Cuisine for dinner were particular highlights.
All in all, a fabulous holiday, and a place we’d love to come back to.
Thank you, Christos, to you and your family for all being such wonderful hosts.
