The property itself was decently nice. Very large space and quiet.
There were a bunch of minor issues, that my group and I mostly just let go since this was supposed to be a budget property. However - lesson learned. If you don't go out of your way to resolve or get these issues resolved, the host will find you responsible.
- When we checked in, we found that there were chairs were broken and the property managers were super slow to respond (responded 14 hours later)
- Property managers said they'll come by to fix chairs but never showed up
- As a result, we stopped communicating other problems since they seemed ignored - which we were later blamed for, for not escalating and following up enough
- House was not properly cleaned before we arrived. We spent extra time ourselves cleaning - and was then blamed for leaving the house excessively dirty
- Many flies and bugs flying around the first 2 nights : I'm guessing from the improper cleaning
- Was warned by host that cleaners would arrive right at check out time. We left some trash outside the bin since it wouldn't fit about 10 minutes before checkout time, and left the property, and then was blamed for leaving it outside, saying animals got to it and made a mess all over the property.
- Many outlets without covers and exposed wires (better be careful if you have kids)
- Insufficient cleaning supplies (like dishsoap)
- Driveway not properly de-iced
Most of these issues were not huge issues in themselves, but our experience soured when the host blamed our group for the condition of the property, even though we left it better than when we arrived. Suggestion to the host : maybe you should look into seeking responsibility with the property managers or cleaners instead of our group.
