“We absolutely loved staying in the Captain's Cabin. Bourton on the Water is in a great location for day trips, but we had to pull ourselves away from this adorable and bustling little village. Location of the Captain's Cabin is quiet and peaceful, but just a two minute walk to all that Bourton on the Water has to offer! We loved ending our days cuddling up by the fire and had the best sleep in the charming and comfortable bedroom. ”

Everything was there that we needed and I enjoyed the outside space to sit and read a bit and to dry some laundry. “We stayed for 5 nights - Pros: very pleasant contact with host several times, very comfy beds, clean crisp linens, very nice fully equipped kitchen, wonderful water pressure/hot & cold water, surprise welcoming gift of white wine, crackers & the most delicious local Brie. “Very well situated, and cute little house. The stay was very nice overall, Blockley is lovely with decent facilities. Great place to stay to hit all the spots s such as Stow, Bourton etc. Would just say maybe a couple of wine glasses would be nice and the chairs at the food bar are quite small for the height of the table”

“Lovely traditional cottage, close to castle and all amenities. Let down by the weather but this is England. Unfortunately only a couple of places to eat at the time we were there as the corner cupboard was closed and so was the old bakery and plaisterers arms didn’t have a cook. lol cal Indian was amazing. Check in process was easy and hosts on other end of the phone if you needed anything ”

“Lovely traditional Cotswolds cottage in a great location, just a few minutes walk up the hill from the middle of Bibury. Very tastefully refurbished & styled cottage with field walks directly opposite (as well as the handy pub!!). Super location for other Cotswolds villages and towns eg: Burford) and highly recommended village pubs for meals and country pints!! The host was attentive and lovely - which also is really appreciated by us.”

“The cottage was absolutely perfect for our party of 12 & our host mrs joyce was absolutely lovley. Check in & out was very easy and the property itself very easy to find even though its out in the beautiful countryside . The cottage was spacious and clean & we were all adequately accomodated the children were happy playing in the games room & the pool the house is ideal for a relaxing get-away every one really enjoyed thier stay we will definitely book again. ”

“Everything was as expected it was cosy and convenient, near several pubs and shops and just a half hour bus ride into Oxford. We also used it as a base for Bicester, the British Motor Museum and the Aston Heritage trust! So much to see in Oxford and surrounds and this is a great place to stay! Very good value for money ”

“I liked the bedroom with mini fridge tea/coffee making items. I liked the large shower and the fact it was quiet and warm. I didnt like small cups i think mugs would be better. The extractor fan in bathroom didnt work, there is a little mold around the shower tray. The bathroom floor needs grouting in parts. The garden is a big eyesore full of weeds etc not useable for anyone staying. The whole property was spotlessly clean. I had no english tea bags in my room but found some in the kitchen...

“A lovely 2 day break at the lakes, so peaceful and relaxing. Spa is great too and we pretty much had it to ourselves most of the time. Food in the tipi was also great, would have liked to have seen some more sweet breakfast and healthy options though. It would also be great if there was an on-site shop to buy any groceries/essentials to save having to drive elsewhere.”
