The unit is a bright, sunny apartment in the first block of downtown Wiscasset. If your goal is to experience a lobster roll at Red's Eats, you'll be hard pressed to find a closer property to stay in.
The negatives expressed in some other reviews do exist (shower stains, rust stains on towels), but we did not find that to be terribly off-putting, given the price. Everything was clearly clean if not spotless.
This is a second-floor unit in an historic building with steep steps. While not a lot of fun, I was able to manage them even with a bad knee and a considerable need to lose weight. Nevertheless, if stairs are a challenge, be sure you keep this under consideration.
WiFi was terrific. The signal was fast and stable the entire time. The television in the apartment is a bit small. It receives only basic cable, but who comes to Wiscasset to watch television, right?
The bed is queen size and a solid piece of furniture. The mattress is beginning to show its age -- I recommended to the landlord they consider replacing.
Bottom line: If I'm ever in need of accommodations in Wiscasset, this will be the first place I look. We truly appreciated the location, the hospitality, and the price!
