“If you are into small town quaint experiences but with modern amenities as opposed to chain hotels near the Interstate this is the place for you! This hotel has been maintained very well despite being built in the 1800s. There is a very good restaurant/ bar on property. It is situated within 5 minutes of Interstate 70 so it’s convenient. It marks the halfway point from Kansas City and Denver. The town is cute but not much left in the way of open businesses which is a shame.”

“This is the second time we have stayed at the Lawfts in Russell, KS. This property never disappoints and is our favorite place to stay while visiting relatives in the area. The full service kitchen, laundry, bathrooms, and bedrooms are nicely appointed and very clean. The beds are exceptionally comfortable. “Decor is nice. Furniture is newer. Bath linens are higher end. Perfect space for 2, not 4. Nice size bed. Tiny bathroom that wouldn't be claustrophobic if larger than 200 lbs or taller than 6 ft. Super stuffy and hot on arrival (even though they are adamant about leaving the air conditioner at 74- it was over 80 with 1 window unit in living room). Bedroom was miserable in temp, until about 3A. No fans available. Why not? Not sure bed sheets were washed- crumbs that needed to be brushed off....
