Cabin was awesome
We were in the area for a family reunion. The cabin was awesome. The location was easy to find and so remote! Just what we were looking for! Would recommend to anyone looking for peace and quiet!

Beautiful country cabin with wildlife!
Booking and checking in was very easy. The area is absolutely stunning! From the great sand dunes to northern New Mexico all are close enough to explore. We came across all kinds of wildlife during our stay. Cabin was clean and had everything we needed. Wi-Fi is very good. It seems small from the photos but we never felt cramped. We would definitely stay here again.

Just right
The description of the cabin and the area do not do it justice. Went looking for peace and quite and found it. There were two other cabins/house on the same drive, but to see someone else was very rare. Cabin had the right amount of modern conveniences. The hosts left very good directions on some fantastic drives and hikes. Cabin was very well kept up. Wildlife was all around you. Good place to go and lose the world for a while. Will be returning again.

A perfect vacation place
We drove from Texas to stay in this lovely cabin. It was a great vacation, the cabin is roomy and very well equipped for everything that is needed. Loved eating our meals outside on the patios! The mountain behind a cabin is a great hike and it is full of animals; we really enjoyed it. Very highly recommended, a great place to stay.

Calm and peaceful

Little Restin
Cabin was as expected! Wonderful location away from hustle and bustle but close enough to activities like biking, fishing and hiking that it wasn’t an all day trip getting there. Cabin very cozy and comfortable. I highly recommend this place and plan on returning in the near future. Owner was very responsive and took care of us and made sure our stay was as close to perfect as it could be.

Pleasant Little Cabin
I was pleased at the location of the cabin. It was easily accessible. We were very comfortable despite it looking so small. We didn't spend so much time at the cabin since we were out fishing but it easily met our needs. The scenery was lovely out the kitchen window and the loft as well. Woud definitely recommend it to others.

Relaxing
Very sweet cabin. Dogs loved the walks and near by lakes. Dogs are exhausted, sleeping hours once home. Only wish we could have stayed longer. 2 nights wasn't long enough! Thank you!

Wonderful time in the Mountains.
We stayed at the cabin for the Labor Day Weekend break and were very happy. The place was perfect for my wife and I and our dog. Amazing stars at night, we can't wait to visit again in the future.

Gem in Colorado!
Wow, I can't say enough about this property. The cabin is adorable. The loft area would be perfect for kids. The master bedroom bed is super comfortable with really nice, silky sheets. Great kitchen-it had everything we needed and a cute little oven/stovetop, perfect for a smaller space. The living area was perfect. We didn't watch TV (we had the great windows to look out of!) but there is a nice TV in the living area. There's no kitchen table but a cool wooden bar with stools, or you can eat outside on the porch where there is a table and chairs. The porch provides fantastic entertainment: tons of hummingbirds were still there (late August), and we were visited nightly by the very kind neighbor's horses that are allowed to roam. They are friendly and love the beautiful unmowed native grasses that surround the cabin. I loved the natural feel of the area. The location of the cabin? So perfect that we looked at property for sale in the area just to dream. It's easy to find the cabin thanks to the owner's directions, but is located off of a wonderful-to-drive road full of wildlife (we saw a heard of 60 elk one night!). In addition, the actual road on which the cabin is located is wonderful. The next door neighbor (and owner of the wandering horses) is a brisk 5 min walk down the road and was super nice. You have the place to yourself! It's unreal! And gorgeous! We saw deer daily, too. Jared, one of the owners, called me right after I made the reservation and spent probably 20 minutes telling me about the cabin and recommendations for things to do and places to eat in the area, several of which we did (The Dog Bar was great and was perfect for our dog, and the West Spanish Peaks trail was gorgeous!). We only had 2 full days here, but will definitely be back. I can't recommend it highly enough. It was perfect for 2 people but had sleeping enough for 6. Kids would think the loft is fantastic and would adore the location and grounds on which to explore. The one warning: the water does indeed smell like sulphur here. At Jared's recommendation, we brought bottled water for teeth brushing and drinking water. I'm pretty sensitive to the smell but it didn't bother my husband that much. Just be prepared for stinky water when you shower, but you come out smelling just fine. ;-) This is a gem in Colorado for sure!

Great, relaxing trip
The house was perfect for our needs with two human adults and two basset hounds. We loved the private, remote location and it was a close drive to Stonewall, Monument Lake, and North Lake. We used the kitchen for quite a few meals and everything worked great. We also used the washer and dryer which was a nice surprise. Jared was helpful and very quick to respond. We will definitely be back!

Wonderful cabin, location, and host! This was our second stay and we will be back again!

Wonderful and comfortable cabin in gorgeous country!
Our stay was delightful - Jared reached out to us before our stay to see what we might need in advance, such as tips on things to do in the area. The cabin was super comfy and in the most beautiful area. Getting up each morning and looking out at the land and mountains was so relaxing! The property had everything we needed and then some to be comfortable throughout our stay. Definitely recommend! :-)

Little Restin at Weston
Perfect getaway. We really enjoyed our stay at the little cabin. We loved the peace and quiet. The hosts were fantastic and kept in touch before and after our trip. I can’t say enough about our stay. We were given great driving directions and instructions for the cabin. The cabin was clean and cozy. The location was perfect! The view from the cabin was also very lovely. We loved hiking the mountain behind the cabin, taking evening walks down the road and seeing wild life , and sitting on the porch. Location of cabin is not far from other activities. We hiked West Spanish Peak during our stay. Local neighbors also very friendly. We will be back!

Great little cabin
The cabin was awesome, the location was even more amazing. The one and only complaint is the water smelt really bad, we brought our own water for drinking but even showering was a little rough with the smell. But other than that everything was really amazing.

Anniversary Get Away
We can not say enough about our stay. The location was in a perfect location for day trips in and around the area. We enjoyed watching wildlife and fishing in the local lakes. We will be back again!!

Summer vacation
We all absolutely loved the cabin and the land! The cabin was clean and comfortable. My kids loved having the upstairs loft. We explored, did some off roading, fished, and saw a mountain lion! We will definitely visit again! We all had such a great time!

Amazing Cabin!!!
This place is fantastic! Great cabin in a quiet off the beaten trail location. Has all the comforts of home with an in the middle of nowhere feel. Everything was clean and well cared for and the owner was communicative and helpful. Kids loved the loft with a bridge. Lots of lakes and outdoor activities nearby. We will be staying here again for sure!

Little Restin mini vaca.
Had a great time staying at the cabin. Had everything we needed. Hiked West Spanish Peak, Purgatoire and Bear Lake/Blue Lake trails. Rained every afternoon. Other reviews complained about the sulphur smell of the water, it isn't the end of the world but noticable. We remembered to bring our own water to drink and brush our teeth. We didn't expect luxury staying at a cabin, as long as you realize that. Would stay there again or maybe try the Big Restin up the hill. Thank you Todd and Jared. It was so relaxing and enjoyable.

A remote stay off the grid.
I would stay here again without hesitation. For me the location was very good, I could be in Trinidad within 35 minutes and to Monument lake in under 15. I enjoyed the privacy of the cabin, there are a few neighbors not far, but you are pretty much isolated which it’s exactly what I wanted. My communications were with Jared who was more than accommodating. We had a number of conversations before my trip, and talked once there. While I had no issues with the cabin, if I would have, I know Jared would have taken care of me. It is easy to find the cabin. Hwy 12 gets you there, then a 1.5 mile dirt road gets you from Highway 12 to the cabin. The dirt road is excellent, they actually were doing work on it while I was there. Highway 12 takes you to Monument lake and further. The drive from Trinidad to the cabin and Monument lake is beautiful. I did not go further than Northlake which is just a few miles north of Monument lake. If you like to fish for trout, Monument Lake is a great place to do so. On your way to the lake you will pass Picketwire and The Shopping Bag which both have fishing supplies and other things. Looking forward to my next stay.

Old time Colorado
This sweet cabin is reminiscent of what Colorado was before it was discovered.The managers are fabulous and the communication was clear and exceptionally friendly. The place is rustic so don't expect otherwise ,but it was immaculate and had everything we needed.

Excellent to get away from a big city. Super quiet and peaceful.
The cabin was as described by the owners. 1.5 miles away from Hwy 12. The traffic on 21.6 is minimal and if you sit on the front porch or the deck you are being greeted by passing drivers. Highly recommended if one seeks a quite place surrounded by mountains with no city lights. The night sky beautiful. Hundreds of gravel roads is an additional bonus for somebody who is into the gravel cycling.

Memorial Day Fishing Trip
My son and I stayed here Memorial Day weekend and had a blast. This is a perfect location and the house was ideal for the 2 of us. We saw Turkey, Deer, and a whole herd of Elk. I highly recommend this place to anyone that wants to be a little off the beaten path, but not to far, and who loves the mountains and Mother Nature.

Nice location for an outdoor wedding
We were here for our daughter’s wedding. She and her fiancé were staying in the main house on the property and it was very convenient for us to stay close by to help with the wedding. It’s a very pretty, secluded location. In following up with us after the event, I mentioned a minor issue to the owner and he made sure to rectify it to my satisfaction.

Relaxing Weekend

Cabin in a relaxed setting
I enjoyed my week at the cabin. It was clean and quiet. The heat worked great. The cabin is on well water and can it can smell a bit, so be prepared. That said, it’s great value and an interesting base camp to the explore.

Let’s just start by saying the pictures do not do this place justice! It is amazing! Quaint little cabin with gorgeous mountain views! The owners are amazing to work with and give you more information about the area than you can even imagine! So glad we chose the Little Restin and will definitely be back as many times as possible! Hunting party
Had a great time with friends and family members in Colorado. The Cabin was a great place to recoup each night. Just big enough for the 4 of us to enjoy each other's company and make some great memories. The cabin was clean on arrival, and the kitchen was stocked enough for the 4 of us as well. We had such a relaxing time at the Cabin. Hiked, read a book, watched a few movies (great collection to choose from) and our most favorite thing was laying on the deck in our sleeping bags stargazing! The Cabin was very clean and comfortable! Looking forward to returning!!

Great Value!
We have been camping in this area for years, but this was our first time renting a cabin here. The Little Restin’ did not disappoint! The place was clean and very well stocked with linens, cleaning supplies, and kitchen tools. It was the perfect size for our group of 4 adults and a short distance to great hiking in the area. The property is beautiful and gives a good feel of privacy. The owner was also very nice and easy to communicate with! Overall this cabin is a great value and a wonderful place to stay! I would definitely stay here again.

Great off-the-grid respite
Exactly what I was looking for - (almost) no cell service or WiFi, just amazing foliage, the mountains and the first season of the Sopranos on DVD. As far as a cabin goes I'd put this on the upscale spectrum, solely for having baseboard heat and running water - I grew up on well water so am used to the sulfur smell, but as Jared mentioned it was helpful to drain the hot water tank. Overall it was exactly what I was looking for and my only regret is not being able to stay longer. Will definitely be back!

Truth in advertising
Rarely does a vacation live up to its anticipated billing - this one did!! Weather was crisp and cool. The cabin was quaint, cozy and quiet. Location was secluded - yet close to wildlife viewing, fishing, great eating establishments (Stonewall Shopping Bag served as good a breakfast as you will find anywhere). beautiful hiking scenery. We were looking for a tranquil restful vacation and Jared and Todd provided the perfect accommodations! Can't wait to come back next year!

Great little cabin, with one small exception
We really enjoyed our stay. Great location, very functional. The only drawback was the sulfur smell of the water. To be fair, Jared did warn me ahead of time that it had a slight sulfury smell. It was very strong when showering. We were there hunting in the area and any string smell is like a game repellent. Otherwise, our stay was great!

Great getaway cabin off the beaten path
