“We’ve stayed in the other property and that seemed to be abit more updated than this one. It advertised as having internet but as property is so remote and thick cottage stone we couldn’t get any internet. Also kitchen area may be needs some updating. All in all had a lovely time. ”

“Lovely place to stay in a rural setting. The cottage was cosy and warm, and had everything we needed. The only downside was no wifi, but we had a good phone connection so managed with our hotspot. Jo & Clive were great hosts alwsys available and helpful. It is ideally situated for walk, Buxton, Leek and other peak park towns. Would definitely book it again.”

“Wonderful stone converted coach house, very cosy, helpful owner, lots of bits and bobs in the cupboards, everything thought of, good sized rooms too… great facilities and a huge amount of logs and kindling supplied for the wood burner. Heating system worked brilliantly when we needed it as we were snowed in last two days. The perfect place to walk from direct, We found wonderful walks from our doorstep. Very peaceful and quiet setting. Highly recommended - thanks Nigel!”

“Lovely stay. The cottage was clean, well equipped and comfortable. Vicky was always on hand when needed and communication was great - super quick! Loved coming outside to the chickens and seeing the horses when we arrived. We had a really nice stay and would definitely recommend/return!”

“We frequently stay in holiday properties and so know what you can get for £140 / night and sadly this was not up to the standards we would expect. The cottage is lovely, in a lovely sertting but it is very damp with mould around the windows and mildew on the curtains. It was not clean, the tiles in the bathroom were mouldy, under the furniture were dead woodlouse and other remnants of insects, cobwebs everywhere and the lavatory off the main bedroom was very poorly cleaned. “Amazing well equipped spacious chapel. I actually got lost in it when I first entered. We were 6 couples enjoying a birthday celebration and it exceeded all our expectations. Beautiful furnishings with attention to detail. Fully equipped kitchen with a spare kitchen if needed (which you don’t) Heating system worked very well, considering the size of the property too. James was very prompt with a query. A pub and walks on your doorstep everything you could possibly need. Can’t wait to revisit. ”

“Lovely hotel albeit a bit dated. Friendly staff, simple but efficient brekfast and nice lobby and bar facilities. The rooms were clean and the bed was actually quite nice but everything in there was a litle worn. This hotel was propably one of the nicest places in the region in its hayday but those glorydays are somewhat passed. But an old Jaguar is still a Jaguar, and you should think of this hotel that way. Did not try the spa. I would stay here again. ”
