I would like to begin with the positives - This is a lovely property nestled in the mountains. It isn't quite as secluded as indicated in the listing - there are neighbors in close proximity. But the area was quiet. The home itself was comfortable and well-appointed.
Now the negatives - this is entirely to do with the local property manager and their communication with VRBO.
Prior to my arrival, I messaged through the VRBO app on how I was to gain access to the property, be it key or door code. I thought it odd I would have to ask after this information.
The garage barely fit our mid-sized SUV.
We awoke to NO hot water the first morning. No showers, no anything needing hot water. I messaged throughout the day and felt I was getting the run around, being advised to check the water heater pilot light and breakers. We didn't hang out so couldn't do any of that. The property management company didn't bother to fix the issue while we were away so we returned late to no hot water, still. They sent a tech out around 10pm. He lit the pilot light and for the most part we were ok. Second morning, no hot water in the master shower.
I chatted, emailed, called and had to repeat myself over and over. I'm now getting the run around about getting a partial refund. Days later, I'm still getting texts asking if the issue has been resolved. I'm pretty sure Vacasa (local property management) and VRBO do not talk to one another.
We won't rent through VRBO in this area again. Such hassle!
