“We had an absolutely lovely weekend staying at The Royal Oak. The location was perfect for a relaxing weekend away. The scenery was breathtaking and we had a lovely view from our room. The room was very clean and nicely decorated. This is a traditional pub, very cosy and again nicely decorated but retaining its traditional charm. The landlord and landlady were extremely helpful. Above all, this is dog friendly accommodation, a must for us. We would definitely stay here again. ”

“When we arrived we were told by the landlady that the place was not a hotel as it was currently undergoing refurbishment. However the landlady and her mother were the most helpful, accommodating and kind people I have met in a long time. They gave us all food and drink, made telephone calls and even drove us to our rearranged hotel. They couldn’t have done more. When the hotel reopens it will be the best place to stay because of the kindness and welcoming of those who own and manage it.”
