The Green Door is a cute, cozy place with a modern touch near the historic Washington Square. The kitchen is lovely, with new appliances. (no D/W, though) The new bathroom is small, but has a very nice step-in shower and heater/exhaust fan combo. The king bed was surprisingly comfortable for both my husband and myself - though we're opposites when it comes to mattress preference. We had enough room to hang and store clothes for our extended stay. There were two drawbacks for us, a couple in our 70's: despite the listing showing 1+ bath, there's only one bathroom -- no additional half-bath. That was a big disappointment. The other drawback was the stairs down to the basement for the washer and dryer. We really appreciated the ability to take care of our laundry, but the house is old, and the stairs are fairly steep and uneven - - a challenge for us old folks. (For younger folks, probably no biggie.) In the first few days of our stay, a nasty winter storm of ice followed by rain caused water in the basement (for many homes); John took care of it promptly. He was very gracious and accommodating. If not for the single bath and the old basement stairs, we'd give the Green Door five stars.
