Great location and Beautifully Stocked
The condo is in a great community with a great location for beach-going, shopping, dining and sightseeing. The condo was VERY WELL stocked with everything we needed for cooking our own meals each evening. The sunsets were beautiful as well! Steve and Maryanne took good care of us. We will be back.

Perfect stay in paradise
We've been to the Big Island a few times now and this is our favorite place we have ever stayed. The condo was clean and spacious, with truly everything you could ever need to cook a meal (even a rice cooker!) and the property is gorgeous and close to everything. And a special thank you to the owners for the comfy beds and all of the beach toys and equipment. My kids were thrilled!

A Wonderful Stay at the Hale Mermaid
We had an absolutely wonderful time staying at Steve and Maryanne's lovely condo. Everything looked exactly like the pictures. We stayed for nearly 10 days, and it really felt like a home away from home. Steve and Maryanne thought of everything to make our stay as comfortable as possible - there were beach towels for use in the laundry room, shampoo and conditioner in each of the showers, rice/flour/spices for us, and of course, we loved having beach chairs and umbrellas at our disposal. Above all, the kitchen was incredibly well stocked. We are used to staying at condos where things are sparse when it comes to cooking (one didn't even have an oven mitt!), but this condo had everything! We don't have little kids anymore, but I appreciated that they had plates and utensils for babies/toddlers. Finally, I would be remiss if I didn't glow about how beautiful the condo complex is. There's a really nice private pool and direct access to the beach. We really loved staying here!

Wonderful property in an amazing location..everything was great except the cleaning crew did a poor job left smelly items in the washing machine.. dirty dishes in the dishwasher.. counters dirty and left over food in fridge that should have been tossed out.. Thus the low score on cleanliness ..

Awesome overdue family vacation!
Beautiful condo and so much room for our family and perfect location! Loved the lanai with the peekaboo view of the ocean, the unit was stocked with all the cooking equipment we needed and we loved making food for ourselves. Beach club is wonderful and easy walk to the gorgeous beach! Everyday we saw tons of turtles and monk seals! We had the best time! Can’t wait to come back and hope to stay here again! Thank you!

Paradise
This unit has a lovely view of the ocean and everything we needed for a great vacation. The kitchen was well stocked and there were extra paper products and towels everywhere. Lots of everything just like we were at our house! Very clean and a quiet location with a nice club house and pool to use.

Awesome condo in the best location in the island!
We've stayed at Kolea many times before, but this is the first time at Steve and Maryanne's. Their condo is a corner unit on the 3rd floor with very high ceilings that make the space feel very spacious. Because of the 3rd floor you get a fanatic view! It is a quick walk to the Kolea pool and 5-10 min walk to A-Bay where we spent most of our time. My family also noted that out of all our rentals this one was the most stocked with regards to cookware, kitchen utensils, spices, coffee, toiletries, and especially paper towels and toilet paper. We very much appreciated that! Also offered are a bunch of beach gear including snorkels, boogie boards, and a very handy beach wagon (this was very handy at Hapuna Beach). One minor improvement would be to upgrade the TV streaming system as we had some issues streaming. Overall our family loved our stay and would definitely return!

Kolea Condo
Been coming to the Big Island for the Lavaman race for the past 15 years. Always look for a Kolea condo and this one is one of the best. Owners are very responsive and kind. Condo is on 3rd floor with vaulted ceilings and a partial ocean view. Tons of beach toys and a beach buggy wagon hat was perfect for hauling the grandkids and their stuff to the beach. The pool area is a great place for the littles to splash and play. Hope to return for next year's Lavaman race!

Amazing!
My family of four loved every minute of our stay here. The kitchen had everything we could ever need to cook a great meal. One evening we were eating outside on the lanai and were able to see whales out in the ocean! The provided beach chairs, umbrellas, and toys were a huge plus. Overall, the condo is very spacious, modern, clean, and comfortable. The owners even put together a wonderful book of suggestions for activities/trips to do on the Big Island. The beach club was awesome and had easy access to A’Bay. We loved the views from the hot tub!

Wonderful tropical paradise
The pictures of this property do not do it justice. The condo is well appointed and has all the amenities we needed. We ate in primarily and the kitchen was very well set up and included all the basics and more. We appreciated the ease of checking in/out and communication with the owners was great.

Great property and location!
We loved the location of this condo. It was nice to have access to coolers, beach wagon, boogie boards, beach towels and beach chairs since we were traveling as a family. The lanai was really nice and we cooked many meals while staying at this property. There was a used diaper in one of the laundry bins when we arrived, therefore gave it 4 stars for cleanliness, otherwise it was very clean. The dryer did have some difficulty operating due to an error message, but we were able to get it working. Love being able to do laundry while away so that arrival at home is easy, without loads of work to do. The front bedroom doesn’t get as cool using the AC as the back master bedroom, definitely recommend the use of a fan.

We love Kolea, and this comfy unit is located conveniently near the pool. Perfect size for family of four including two teens. Great beach equipment (chairs, umbrellas, wagon, icebox) came in very handy for beach excursions. The owners were prompt and responsive when minor issues came up. Would gladly return!

Best stay ever
This was such a phenomenal place to make our temporary home base for a Hawaiian adventure! So many thoughtful and convenient touches - from a very well stocked kitchen to a cooler you can take to the beach to many, many beach toys to great recommendations for things to do that were appropriate and enjoyable for our whole fam. The pool is lovely and a quick walk from the condo - and we loved watching the sunset at A Bay! Our hosts were communicative and kind. Cannot say enough nice things and hope to stay again!

Amazing Condo
We spent 7 nights at this extremely spacious and luxurious condo. The property was exactly as advertised and very clean. It has everything you could possibly need. The lanai is very big and offers lovely views of the ocean (partial) and the beautifully manicured grounds. We loved the outside grill. The Kolea development was very quiet and pleasant. Its Beach Club offers not only an infinity pool but also an infinity hot tub with prime views of the beach, ocean and the adjacent ancient fish ponds (as well as the stars during night). The beach is beautiful and very close/easy to walk down to. Communication with and information by the owners was excellent and check-in/out a breeze. The codes for the gate and the door made coming and going super easy and the carport was huge. We were extremely satisfied and would happily return in a heartbeat.

Perfect location
We loved the top floor. It was quiet and away from the noise and other units. This unit was spacious and had more then enough room for our Ohana. We enjoyed all the provided items including beach chairs and accessories for our convenience. We’d definitely return here as it was very relaxing and nice. The only thing I would say is the beds were a little too hard for us. Other than that, all else was just right.
