Amazing

Great North Shore location for families!

Our stay was exactly what we wanted when we booked this rental. It was perfect for our family of four. We wanted a North Shore rental that made us feel like locals and this duplex was just that! Plus it was just a short walk to the park and beach which my kids absolutely loved. Wayne was an amazing host and we would rent from him again in a heartbeat. The rental had everything we needed, including beach chairs and boogie boards! Thank you Wayne!

Quiet get away

Loved this property! It was easy to find and easy to get to fun activities along North Shore. It was also just a short walk to a beach with a gorgeous sunset. The property was clean and cozy! The bed was comfy with good pillows (very important to me!). Wayne was also so nice and quick to respond with check-in questions. Will definitely stay again.

The place was complete with all your pots and pans. Literally a minute walk to the beach, which is beautiful with a playground and basketball court. The house is beautiful with a patio that over looks the beach, a yard and BBQ area .. perfect for a nice vacay...

Beach House for the Weekend

Clean house, nice kitchen. Individual AC's in the rooms. We received noise complaints via text and in person while we were there for the weekend, but the host was never aggressive in their tone which I appreciated. One bedroom was a little bigger and had access to the deck. The rooms were separated by a small but clean bathroom. The deck was like an outdoor gazebo on the second floor and was very relaxing and cool, even in the daytime. definitely adds space and dimension to the house. The streets were small with several small apartment complexes as neighbors but there was still parking available. The beach is a very short walk, like 4 minutes and the kitchen has a big gas stove and nice appliances. I enjoyed cooking while I was there. This house resembled the cleanliness shown in the photos. 5 stars overall.

Our favorite place on Oahu so far

We spend the winter on Oahu and this was our favorite place so far. It’s 2 blocks to Aweoweo beach park, which has restrooms, tables, playground, basketball court, shade and a great beach with few people and lots of turtles in the water. This upstairs apartment has a view of the ocean from the back lanai, which is covered and has a a large BBQ and table and chairs for 6. This was our favorite spot. It always has a nice breeze and has a light for evenings. The apartment has everything you need for cooking meals there. It was very clean and the cleaning lady was so helpful and always checked to see if we needed anything each time she came to clean another apartment. She was so friendly and gave us great information. Wayne was easy to work with and gave great instructions. We had a problem with the cable TV and Wayne sent someone right out to fix it. We have family that comes throughout the winter and everyone said both beds were very comfortable as was the couch bed also. It has an AC in the living room and both bedrooms, which we only had to use a few times, since it gets a nice ocean breeze in the winter. There is off street parking. The neighborhood was safe and quiet. We loved this apartment and hated to go home. The only downfall is the stairs and having to lug everything up them

Small town in paradise

Everything was perfect, Jackie asked us if we needed anything every time we saw her. The beach was amazing with very few people. Not too far from town and fun family activities. Very clean and charming. Enjoyed the outside shower and the deck looking out to the ocean.

Great little place close to great beach on the North Shore

This house is small, but we fit 2 adults and 3 kids just fine. The location can't be beat, 2 blocks from a wonderful beach park where the waves break far out on the reef making it very safe for kids and making some wonderful shore snorkeling with turtles galore! My kids enjoyed the backyard and catching lizards back there. The A/C's were a little loud so we would turn them on a little before going to bed and then turn them off and open the windows and it generally was cool enough to sleep. The kitchen could be slightly better equipped. I think it's the first VRBO I've ever stayed in that didn't have a colander. Also didn't have many glasses and only 1 plastic cup. A colander, small saucepan, some additional glasses, and some plastic cups would have been great. There are a ton of beach toys, boogie boards, chairs, a couple small coolers, snorkels in the carport that are available for use which was great. The laundry facilities are shared with the other unit, but it was okay because we were able to wash our things no problem, just had to wait a few minutes for the other people's stuff to finish once. Great place, I'd highly recommend it to a family with kids who want to explore the North Shore.

We loved it! The communication on my part was I didn’t know how to use my app, but all was great, close to our venue and beach. I would definitely do it again and recommend it to friends and family.

Great stay

Great accommodation for our needs, we are a family of 5 adults. TV/common room has a queen sofa bed our son used, no privacy but it worked for us. It was comfortable, calm water beach a few blocks away, town not far to get groceries. We spent downtime out on the lanai/deck which is shared by the West duplex which my sister rented, and it was convenient to go back and forth. Kitchen well equipped, convenient to use a door code and not have to carry around a key, no complaints on the beds, plenty of towels. Highly recommend the place. I hope we can come back again.

Great Catch!!!

Had a great time, rental was equipped with everything we needed. Only suggestion would be is to have more food storage containers ,other than that it exceeded my expectations. Close to the water and far enough from the city to get that country feeling but close enough by car if you need to go there. Would definately return again and highly recommend to others to enjoy!!!

Nice property, great attention to details, and a fantastic lanai

Highly recommended - would happily stay here again. Clean & comfortable, with a huge lanai from which you can see the ocean two blocks to the north (and that short two block walk takes you to Aweoweo Beach Park). You can tell the owner and maintenance/cleaning folks pay a lot of attention to details - shampoo and little bars of soap in the bathroom, recycling bins in the carport, plenty of kitchen stuff, a bbq grill with a full propane tank, and lots of beach items (including boogie boards, fins, cooler, beach towels, kids toys, and more). Had two minor issues when we arrived (kitchen light was out, and a bar stool was wobbly), but the property manager took care of both problems immediately.

Ideal location with a quiet beach

What we loved about this house was the location, it is so close to the beach. Beach was beautiful. We were lucky because the first time we walked up the beach, one of the many turtles was taking a sunbath on the beach. When it waked up and started to swim, we filmed it and swam with it. So beautiful. One day we visited turtle bay, but I think this name is misleading for tourists because there weren't any turtles. House has airco in all rooms and a lovely balcony where we used to eat in the mornings. We were 5 persons and it was spacious enough. 9 pm everything was quiet outside, you hear no complaints about noisy neighbors from us. Thanks Wayne for letting us stay in your house, I loved the curtains and the covers on the beds. Mahalo, Voncken Family, the Netherlands

Great choice and very good price! Great location to swim with turtles and snorkeling

Property is just as described! Clean, functional, everything worked perfectly. Location is very good. Beach is two blocks away and when we went on February there were plenty of turtles, we snorkeled..... it was really nice! No need of air conditioner at all on Feb. There is a little park just beside the beach so kids spent some time there too. Beach is nice and pretty quiet for North shore, our kids (from 6,7,9 and 11) enjoyed a lot!!! Wayne was always available and helpful. He has a folder in the property with plenty of useful information. Thanks Wayne! Best area of the house is the lanai, we had breakfast and dinner there everyday!. BBQ worked perfectly and we enjoyed the nice breeze at night. Property has a nice garden with a hose outside, great to get rid of the sand before going inside the house. We'd recommend this property and would go there again.

January stay. 10 days.

Thank you, Wayne, for a great stay in your place. For everyone else considering a place to stay on Oahu, this is our experience from this property. The building: It's on the second floor, as are almost all building in the area. Ground floors are mostly reserved for heavy rains or storm flooding, I assume. So just be prepared to walk up and down a few stairs when you enter or leave this property. The building is a little older but it's in quite good condition, with new appliances, flooring, paint, etc. All the towels, soap, shampoo, dishes, towels and other things we needed were all available. Thank you! Even some beach chairs, umbrellas and other items have been left by previous visitors, so they were also available downstairs. Very much appreciated! Parking was great. Off street, and partly shaded. The yard was super, as we collected limes off the grass daily to go into our salads and drinks. Wayne hadn't mentioned anything about this, but we assumed it would be alright, as the tree was full and the limes were laying all over the grass from being over-ripe. Hope you don't mind. The beds are comfortable but very, very soft. I prefer a firmer bed so it took a little time to get comfortable, but that's my preference. Perhaps the best part of the property is the large deck with table, chairs and BBQ. We spent almost every morning, as well as many afternoons and evenings on the deck. My advice: when looking for a property to rent, pay attention to the patio or deck that you'll be getting! Some properties have small or poor patios and, even though the rest of the property might look great, you're going to want to spend lots of time outdoors. The beach: I think this is possible one of the best little neighbourhoods anywhere on the north shore for swimming, as there is a reef a fair way out in the ocean and the water is quite a bit calmer when it hits the sandy beach. Perfect for lots of relaxed swimming or with children. We travelled around the island and many of the other beaches were rocky or had huge, rough waves right to the beach, so we felt really lucky that our beach was so nice. There is a beach-front park a 2-minute walk from the house, so it was just perfect. The whole North shore was also nice. We slowly found out where to buy local fruit, bread, pastries and so on. Yes, the island is expensive compared to the mainland, but local fruit is quite a bit cheaper to help compensate. I'd definitely recommend this property Mahalo!

The property was well located and imaculately presented, all one could possibly want was there

Good communication was provided by the owner who went to above and beyond to provide a great experience. We ate out in Halewia ( 5 minute drive ) at the Mexican Restaurant ,only one , and also at the food vans , which afforded lots of choices. Fortunately we arrived on the first day of a huge swell and were able to stand on the beach and see Pipeline surfed in all it's glory. Renting bicycles was a fun way to explore the local area along with the must drive along the North Shore. I would highly recommend this property , my only dislike was having to leave.
