“If you are planning a visit to Petersburg, VA start with where you would like to stay. The Ragland Mansion is a gem of a Bed and Breakfast. The owner Claudia is so sweet and accommodating. The room my wife and I stayed in was well appointed with everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. We loved the late 1800 appeal. If you are visiting the battlefields this will complement your trip. Enjoy!”

“We loved it !! Enjoyed the character of an older historical Inn feeling what it may have been like in the 1800’s when travelers stopped to stay and eat and refresh themselves. We delighted in having a hearty breakfast served daily to us in the basement with brick floors that went out to a lovely patio. This prepared us for wonderful days of viewing the fall foliage and visiting some of the many wineries nearby.”

“The historical era house was very clean, and had some nice antiques in parts of the house. The king bed was comfortable, and we enjoyed our stay. We stayed in room 5. Recomendations: A mirror on the bathroom, and a larger t.v.”

“John was the consummate host in this lovely BNB. We had more than plenty of room to move around. The location was just close enough to get to a handful of restaurants and shops with a quick drive but the neighborhood was also walkable and quiet at night. John gave us plenty of good ideas for a day trip and nearby sights.”

“We have 2 dogs and needed a place for one night. The place was super cute. However, the stairs were very steep. This was mentioned in a review,s so I was prepared. But they are VERY steep, and it was difficult for the dogs to get up/down them. The twin bed's mattress very uncomfortable, but the other one was fine”
