The worst VRBO/rental experience
I have to be honest. This is the worst experience I've ever had at a rental. I was sent a rental agreement to sign only 1 hour before I was supposed to receive codes and arrive at the property. I was driving 9hrs to get there, only had my phone and no service. This should have been brought up sooner when I was sent my welcome message. This rental agreement also had several things that directly contradicted the listing on VRBO.
Additionally, there were pets allowed at the property and no where in the listing on VRBO did it say there was a fee or that I needed to give them specifics on the pet. The host proceeded to charge me a pet fee the next day and de-activated my code to get into the unit until I paid it, leaving my party and I without somewhere to sleep. The host proceeded to change their listing on VRBO while they are messaging me and not allowing us entry to the property to reflect their statement saying there a pet fee and it needs to be pre-approved, which is fraudulent. I was in town for my grandmas funeral and this was such a horrible experience and waste of my time, while I'm supposed to be with family. This also caused my Dad and his small dog to have to go stay somewhere else after the first night because of the hosts threats not give us access until the pet was paid.
They ended up sending me a message (I think around midnight - 1am) that they will be letting this slide this time, but that in the future I need to put in the reservation that I have a pet.
