Once you arrive everything you need is there ready for you to enjoy the private lake in the scenic northern Michigan forest with your friends. Note: If you go in the Winter, you may want 4-wheel drive. Some the hills can be hard to get up if its snowy. ”

“Our group consisted of my wife, 1 year old son, 87 year old grandma, my dad and his girlfriend, my brother, and our 2 dogs. You can't get a more idyllic or picturesque version of the wilderness in the U.P. than Poplar Lake Lodge. While very remote, Charlie puts a lot of effort into making the grounds and lodge comfortable. The solar power provided most of what we needed, only having to use the generator once for a short while. We caught a lot of fish including a 35" northern pike and 5lb bass!...

The interior was well-appointed and comfortable with lots of seating and sleeping options. We appreciated having WiFi access. The host supplied detailed, easy to follow information for check-in and check-out. We hope to come back to this wonderful cottage.”

“The sounds of the river as we sat on the deck were amazing! Our sons (ages 11-15) had a great time looking for crayfish in the river and exploring the trails. We even saw a bald eagle flying over the river! This is an amazing home and property. It was a perfect location for our day trips to Kitch-iti-kipi, Manistique to rent ORVs, and the beaches of the Au Train/Munising area. We would love to return some day!”

“This was a great place to stay as we hiked the traphills on the north country trail! The large entry room was a great location for all of our hiking gear. Having the bar next door for a quick drink or food helped after a long hiking day too. ”
