Peaceful and quiet getaway!
Got this as a gift for my Mom and Dad who love to just relax at the lake, fish and troll around on the boat. They said they just loved how private and quiet it was there! Cabin was really nice and remote, has enough space to take the family. Nice lame, caught some trout and did some swimming. We will definitely be booking again!

Inaccurate listing
Wifi is noted as a listing amenity AND IT IS NOT. I chose this place based on 2 things--pet friendly and wifi. I wanted to have a working holiday with family, instead I spent 20minutes both ways driving into town and sitting at a shop for a couple hours to use their wifi instead of being with my family. In response the owner said: "The company is run pretty much out of the country nowadays so you'd never know what they're going to do". No ma'am that is not why your listing is inaccurate. If the owner doesn't know how to update their listing the onus is on them, because people pay $100s &$1000ks to rent, to be extremely transparent at the very beginning of their flowery description stating: THERE IS NO WIFI, DESPITE WHAT THE AMENITY LISTING SAYS.We were locked out of the cabin on the 3rd day and sent a message to the owner. Luckily we kept trying the code for about 30 minutes and got in because the owner responded 3 hours later that this was a known issue and there was a trick to get in.That should have been part of the check in information and this would have easily been avoided. There are 4 houses on the very small lake (not 3 as the listing states) with a very large 5th house being built. There were only 2 families using the lake during out stay, which was "cozy" and not too crowded feeling. If all those houses were using the lake at the same time, it would be crowded, no way to avoid that and not a dream fishing retreat.The cabin is clean and cozy.

Peaceful get-a-way
Grandfather & grandson spent a few days bonding. From hiking, fishing, kayaking to smores on the open fire..... the time was enjoyed & will be remembered through the years!

Another Wonderful Stay
We love staying at this wonderful cabin. The owner is wonderful to work with. Everything you could want in the kitchen, super comfy beds. Peaceful and quiet setting. To make things even better my spouse caught 6 trout. Very blessed to have found this cabin.

Fabulous as always
Another July 4th here at the cabin, another great time. Gorgeous weather. Great fishing. Kayaking was so relaxing. Some cool books to read. Gorgeous flower arrangement and decor to celebrate the holiday. Just what we needed.

Family Get away!
This property is AMAZING! Clean, cute, quiet and has everything you could need. We stayed two nights in the house and it could not have been a better stay. The home is much larger than it looks, has every thing you could need and was super clean. The lake is perfect, clean, clear and full of fish. My four year old daughter caught a trout on almost every cast! The neighbor Bob was super nice and invited us to come over to his dock so my daughter could watch him feed the fish, that was super sweet of him and she loved it. This is one of those " I gave it 5 stars cause that is the highest option" kind of places. I can not recommend this enough, its just amazing. Annette is an amazing host, and was extremely kind and gracious. The Apperson Family.

Cute Cabin on a Beautiful Lake
The cabin and lake are very nice. We enjoyed our weekend stay relaxing on the dock (when it was warm) and inside (when the weather turned cold) reading, doing one of their puzzles, etc. The kitchen had everything we needed. (Guests should note there is spotty cell service :)

On the Lake
This property is a perfect lake get away with privacy! Adorable house with everything you need including a stunning view of the lake. Kayaks, rowboat, and canoe provided to get out on the lake. Also the lake is stocked with trout! Perfect for fishing right off the dock. The owner is very nice and very responsive. We will be back!!

Great location and cabin
Our second time staying at this wonderful little cabin. Weather was great. Husband and son caught trout so fresh trout dinners...amazing. So glad to have AC as the weather was warm the first couple of days. One of the best things is that there was no wi-fi. Walks around the lake, kayak, hammock time (always travel with our hammock). Owner wonderful.

Wonderful cabin
The pictures listed online do not do it justice! The cabin was wonderful! So clean, so nice, so comfortable, bigger then it looks in the pics, beds were nice, there is also a large nice couch. Dining table for 6, felt like home. My family had a wonderful stay, kayaked around the lake, fished and caught 5 rainbow trout. The dock was clean and comfortable. The neighbors were very close, but we never saw them. I can’t say enough nice things about this property! Thank you!

H-berry always delivers..
Our 3rd visit - to relax and enjoy the lake front getaway. How often can you make everybody happy? Smiles from the teenager (Kayak and swim is next, no time to text). Smiles from the wife (read/take in the rays/sun), Smiles from the dog (walks/room to run). Heck even dad was caught smiling (coffee/and a view, eve on the dock w a brew)….

Comfy and Cozy
Our family was looking for a quiet place to unplug and relax our minds from media and work. This place was all that and more. We played board games, told stories, had home cooked family meals, listened to the rain, read books and went for a canoe ride on the lake. None of us wanted to go back home. Lovely, simply lovely.

Comfortable cottage in a beautiful setting
Super comfortable and cozy cottage perfect for anyone wishing for peace and quiet with everything available. Nicely equipped kitchen, lots of fun games, puzzles, boats&kayaks and comfy beds. All was very clean, decorated and inviting (even fresh evergreen bough decor for the season) with holiday lights. Hope to return someday!

Peaceful cabin on a private lake
This was our family's 3rd time to rent this cabin. It is a fabulous cabin with a beautiful spiral wood staircase going up to the loft sleeping area. It is super cozy with so much nice, woodsy decor. The lake is beautiful and peaceful, especially in the early morning. The kayaks are fun. My husband and 15-year-old son enjoyed some fishing and mostly caught small bass and trout for fun and threw them back. This is a great place of you need to get away from the hustle & bustle of your normal busy life.

Amazing cabin on the lake

An amazing place
Great property. Super clean, great beds and everything you could possibly need in the kitchen. Gorgeous location on small lake. Owner charming and responsive to all my questions prior to arrival. Lack of internet added to peacefulness of the location…back to more peaceful and simple times without waking up to the daily darkness of the news. Catching trout off the dock, swimming in the crystal clear lake, canoe rides and falling asleep to total quiet.

Private Lake Retreat
Met and exceeded expectations based on photos 👍 Host very responsive. Cabin had charming camp decore and was clean. Lake is clear and warm, great for swimming (good access from dock). Complementary row boat, canoe and kayaks were a great bonus. Spent many hours gazing at the lake from the upstairs balcony, screened porch and dock. Upstairs beds are in a loft space. Will definitely come back!

Weekend Oasis
My family and I had a wonderful long weekend at Sweet Huckleberry Cottage on Old Hatchery Lake. There is a hiking trail right at the cabin that we used in the morning and by afternoon the lake was so refreshing. The kayaks were a nice touch as the lake is big enough to explore but small enough to make it all the way across and back without issue. The cabin provides an inviting space to play games and enjoy each other’s company.

Almost as if we had our own lane cabin
This was our third time staying at the Huckleberry Cottage. We love that we can stay with our dog in this beautiful and serene place where we kayak, fish, swim, play games and just slow down together as a family. We almost always enjoy the lake to ourselves and it is so lovely to look upon.

Lovely modern cabin with rustic charm
The setting is lovely- small quiet lake surrounded by classic northwest forest- I never knew huckleberries grew so tall and thick! Take the back road to Union for great mexican food.

Romantic birthday getaway
This cabin was truly a gem and we felt like we had the whole lake to ourselves. Annette answered all my questions and we were lucky enough to meet her! She is such a sweet soul. We fished off the dock and the boat and caught our daily limit! We shucked oysters at Lilliwap State Park. And foraged mushrooms in the forest. The cabin itself has everything you can ask for and more. The cabin was so clean and all the little details make it feel like home. I loved the books she had around the house. We are looking forward to rebooking for future trips. Thank you Annette, for making my fiancé birthday get away the best weekend ever! ( he kept telling me that allllll weekend)

Miscommunication
We arrived after two and found that the cabin had not been cleaned. The beds were not made, garbage in the full garbage can. Dirty dishes in the dish washer. A gentleman came to the door and said he was there to clean it and seemed very surprised to find us there. He apologized and took the garbage out and left. Then, Friday morning some workers came to the door and said they were paying cable and we had to listen to them digging trenches for a few hours. Those moments were not enjoyable. However, my husband and I had stayed in January and everything was perfect. I will definitely go back. But wanted you to know about the possible miscommunication of the dates I had booked.
