The property is great--we went on spring break and wanted to do a lot of hiking and outdoor activities. We don’t golf, but the pool was nice and of course it’s super close to Saguaro NP, the Arizona Sonora-Desert Museum, etc. It was clean and easy to check into, etc.
My only (big) complaint was dealing with the management company (Vacasa). My wife had to give a work presentation the morning of our checkout via Zoom. I called and asked for an additional half hour late checkout, explaining that we weren’t using that time for superfluous reasons, but that she needed a quiet place with reliable internet for this. Point blank: no late checkouts due to COVID cleaning.
I tried again (because I’m persistent) and got the same answer. So, finally, I went full Karen and insisted that housecleaning could certainly wait 30 minutes to start our casita, because they surely would be starting on others they had to do.
Instantly they agreed to put a note into local management asking for our property to be put at the end of the queue. They additionally assured me a call back, since this was hours before I needed the late check out.
The phone call never came, not even as a courtesy. I spoke to the house cleaners directly as they started other casitas and they assured me they would let my wife finish her presentation undisturbed.
I understand that we’re living in unprecedented times, and my family has taken COVID very seriously (this was our first vacation in over a year). My disappointment came with what felt like an utter lack of customer service on the part of Vacasa. I won’t be booking with them again.
