I can't say enough about the attributes of this home. Its architecture and design are incredible...so much so that it was a struggle to leave it to go to the beach. It was calm and peaceful, and perfectly situated as a private getaway. We truly felt immersed in the local forest. And yet, the beach was a quick 5-minute walk away. The kitchen was also the most well-stocked of any rental I have ever visited. It had enough pots, pans, and accessories to suit all of our cooking and baking needs. Furthermore, the house actually lost power within minutes of our arrival due to a downed power line...the house, however, is equipped with a backup generator which made the wait for power restoration MUCH more bearable.
Our only gripe is with the Vacasa management. Upon arrival, we noticed that the shower drain was clogged and that the shower started filling up immediately. There was a sign warning guests that the drain should be cleared if the shower begins to fill up. Clearly Vacasa is aware of the problem, and so I was shocked that the drain was not cleared prior to our arrival. It was a bit frustrating to spend the first 10 minutes of our vacation cleaning out hair from a shower drain.
We also contacted Vacasa as soon as we noticed the power outage (the generator did not power the kitchen appliances, and so we were unable to cook). While the agent was nice, she simply filled out a maintenance ticket, and never contacted us again. We had to do a little legwork to contact the repairman directly in order to get status updates. To his credit, the repairman (Tom) showed incredible dedication to providing customer service. He was helpful and sympathetic, and really made me feel good about our stay. I just wish that we had received similar treatment from Vacasa directly.
Lastly, we unfortunately left a couple of items in the house after our departure. I contacted Vacasa 2 hours later, but the agent simply filled out a “ticket.” She told me that I would be contacted "soon" with shipping information. After 3 days of waiting, I called Vacasa again. I spoke with new agent, who resubmitted the "ticket" and said that I would definitely hear back with them within 1-2 days...that was over a week ago, and I have yet to hear anything from Vacasa. I feel like I have to follow-up with Vacasa to get anything accomplished, and it’s honestly hard to find the time and energy to do that so often.
