Lovely cabin with amazing views and enormous property for exploring
The host was communicative and responsive for check-in and throughout our stay – and the property manager was friendly and helpful.We enjoyed taking long walks around the enormous property and exploring the area, including swimming in the river. And we appreciated the view of the mountains in the daytime and the dark sky full of stars at night. The kitchen cookware, dishware and utensils were new, nice, plentiful and useful. We were disappointed to find a number of discrepancies between the photos on the website and the cabin itself. The most significant one was the absence of the double bed in the living room. Instead, there as a small sofa that became a small uncomfortable sofa bed. The large brown living room sofa in the photo wasn't there. There were three of us, and we thought we would each have a comfortable bed to sleep in and/or to share. The porch chairs in the photo look cushiony and comfortable, whereas the ones there were hard and so low that the porch railing impeded our view of the mountains. The dishwasher didn’t work properly so we had to hand-wash our dishes during our stay. We had hoped to use the grill, but it did not get hot enough to cook food, even after we connected the back-up propane tank.Despite the issues, it was a clean, nice cabin with lovely sights and nature to enjoy on the property. Also, the location near the Sequoia National Park was convenient for our day visit there.
