Delft is a wonderful city and the apartments of LADelft are located near all the action.
We came with high expectations, but much of the information provided in our hotels.com confirmation turned out to be factually incorrect. The “superior apartment with city view” we reserved and paid for was unbelievably small and cramped. What was listed as 45 square meters turned out to be 32.6 square meters (we measured it). Attached is a picture of the bedroom, which measured 6.1 square meters, slightly larger than the size of the bed itself, which therefore necessitated major acrobatics to get into. This “premium kingsize” bed consisted in fact of two small matrasses, held together by a sheet, which separated at the slightest movement. Very uncomfortable.
The “city view” concerned the courtyard of the neighbor’s house (see picture).
The luxury furniture included a wobbly 4 sqft dining table (picture). There was no information whatsoever on how to operate the non-trivial shower and other equipment.
We felt disappointed and cheated, and mentioned this to the receptionist (whose office was located several hundreds of meters away from the apartment). This lady said that she agreed and understood our frustration, but was unable to do something about this since “all the other apartments were occupied”.
Since we only know the apartment we were given, we can of course not exclude that LADelft has also better ones, Our apartment was not a “luxury” one by any stretch of the imagination.
