“We went with our children, who are 5 and 2. The family room we stayed at was big and spacious, so was the bathroom. All beds were comfortable, and they even had a cot ready for our 2yo. The children had a blast playing at the large play area while seeing the goats and alpacas. Breakfast was included and it was pretty good. The only downside was that, even though they have wifi, we had no signal in our room, so we could only go online (wifi or otherwise) at the restaurant and common areas.”

“We stayed in Room 8 for four nights and had a wonderful stay. Breakfast was made to order by the chef and was absolutely delicious. The dinners were magnificent – and the Sunday roast was one of the best we've ever had! Everything was made from scratch, with perfectly cooked vegetables and a choice of pork, beef, lamb, or chicken (or even a mix of meats!). “We had a nice time at the Pecking Mill. It was clean, the room was extra large, with a double bed and two single beds. The breakfast was cook nicely and was hot. There were cereals, yogurts, toast, orange juice and hot drinks. A lovely place to stay.”

“Attic room, was nice, however not so great if you are tall. Even at 5ft 8, and partner 6ft 3 spent alot of time bent over avoiding hitting our heads. Bath was spectacular! Room was warm, and restrictors on the windows, so unable to get any air flow. Bed very comfy! Cafetiere and Illy coffee was a lovely touch Was a bit disappointed breakfast was included, but had to.pay extra £4 each for a full english. Food was good though. Staff super lovely.”

“The hotel is quite dated but this adds to the character. The room itself needs some updated furniture, more privacy on the windows, especially the toilet window as there was no way of keeping that up and if it was kept propped up it was in full view of the main road. There was a mix up with the rooms that meant somebody else took the breakfast we paid for and nothing was offered back to us.”

My niggles - restaurant menu limited and nothing very healthy; kitchen closes at 8.30; continental breakfast overpriced; only one comfortable chair in the bedroom; a bit too golf oriented to my taste. However, service excellent and friendly, and quite a good location to explore central and north Somerset”
