The location was ideal, a few minutes’ walk from the people we came to Sydney to visit. The room and bathroom were extremely clean. The bed was very comfortable. The building has a shared rooftop terrace offering a panoramic view of the city and part of the harbour. It closes at 9 pm though, so not useful for New Year’s Eve fireworks viewing, unless they keep it open that night.
The space itself could not be called comfortable. It was too small for anything except sleeping. Even that was not great, as the double bed was hard against the wall, with only one side accessible. The table was a very small bench on wheels that had to be moved away from the wall for two people to sit at it, then moved back to allow movement in the room. The only seats were two high, hard uncomfortable stools that had to be moved around to allow two people to move around the room. Suitcases had to be stored standing up - no room to lay them flat.
The property is managed by a business called MadeComfy. There is no reception at the property, so you have to send your photo ID ahead of time to them, followed by a selfie to prove it’s you. When I phoned them to express my concerns about security, they assured me they don’t keep the information. Whether or not that’s true, we were not Made Comfy by this arrangement.
I would recommend this accommodation for a single occupant if the above issues are not a problem. Two people at a stretch, if all you are doing is sleeping there.
You get what you pay for.
