Save your money
The listing photographer must have been a magician because is was not the unit we thought we were staying in. Floors were so uneven you felt drunk walking room to room. Most of the doors need repair because they rubbed on the floor so bad you had to lean into them. All of the mini blind adjustment wands were either broke of missing. The mattresses appeared to be cheap futon mattresses. They only provide 1 roll of single ply toilet paper and you are instructed to bring any extra. Bathroom sink is so close to the toilet that you smash your left elbow into it using the toilet. My wife needed extra towels which took a day and a half to get and when we finally got them, they stunk so bad of cleaning chemicals that i had to put them out on the porch. You are instructed to clean any pots and dishes you used but no dishwasher detergent is provided. We had to buy our own. Our unit appeared to be held together with 20 pounds of caulk (i build high end homes,i know construction). We've stayed at 4 star all inclusive resorts for what this cost. Find a host that cares about your stay.

Relaxation Seeker
This place is about as laid back as you can get in the Keys. We love coming here, but it's a no frills existence and normally very peaceful. There's no housekeeping. Once you've blown thru some basic household supplies, you're on your own. With ample help from the property manager, eventually, the cottage had everything you might need for a home away from home.

This property is clean and adequate. Close to the lower keys, and easy to get to the upper keys and back. The listing indicates that there is a washer and dryer; however, these are coin-operated and in a different part of the compound, not in the unit. There has been road work done in the area, so the driveway was not easy to find by using the directions listed. All-in-all, not bad!

It's a good quiet place about 20 miles from Key West. The property itself has seen its best years-- it has aged now but functional. The entrance is a bit tricky to find, right off of the highway. Overall a good place if you don't mind driving back and forth between Key West attractions.

All directions were spot on for the location. The cottage was just so run down and left in a long ago time period. It has such potential but it is really run down. The whole cottage and outside areas. It's too bad because it could be so great!toobad. Could be so great

Pretty much as described
This place was nice. The pool situation was a little awkward as it does appear to be mainly for the bigger house as other reviews stated. The gas grill which is beneath the main house by the pool is communal. The main reason I gave this a 4 was because the smoke alarms in the rental did not have any batteries. Everything else was as described.

Everything was clean, for the price it was amazing. Had a dock within 300 ft. Quit, plenty of parking available, key west was an easy 🚗 drive. Nice pool for relaxing, giving you the sense of luxury.

It was a little hard to find because they mentioned mail boxes at entrance , and there were no mail boxes , i found out after calling owner , i think they just have to not mention mail boxes, and use an address at the entrance instead! Other than that , N P !

Wonderful stay
It was just as expected. It was clean, and easy to find. We were provided with all of our basic needs. There is a pool on site, that we did not use we spent most of our time in Key West. But it was nice quiet we love the screen in porch. The beds could of been a little softer But we are still grateful for a wonderful stay.

Adorable, old school place!
So much of the Keys has become modernized… This place has been wonderfully locked in time. Secluded side street, lovely views of the bay, shallow drafting boats welcome. Freezing cold pool helps the hot days. Associated resorts help the socialization. Come for a day, stay for a month!

regarding cottage 12
The location for this compound is very nice, access to ocean. My friends had stayed here at another cottage in the past and were happy with the facilities. Cottage 12 is in tough shape, we took pictures as soon as we got in so we have date and time stamp the issues on arrival. I sent them to the property owner. The ceiling fan/light in living room was hanging from its wires, we were hesitant to turn it on for fear of it falling down. the front door handle was loose and swinging. Unsure when the owner was last at this cottage to see this. My husband drove to the hardware store and bought a screw to secure it. The kitchen had very little supplies, we expected at least salt and pepper shakers, we ended up spending much more than we anticipated at grocery store for items such as this. There wasn't a mixing bowl. Again, maybe I'm too picky but I've stayed at many VRBOs that had at least the basic essentials. There was no mat or rugs so we constantly had to clean up the floors. The shower head had very little water pressure. We again notified the owner, she never addressed this issue. I have no problem with low flow and respect the need to conserve water but this showerhead was all plugged up. The washer didn't drain and spin, we promptly notified the owner who told me she had just had it worked on, it should work. Another cottage guest also contacted her, owner told us of other coin operated washers we could use. Disappointing stay

Not what I expected
I know it is suppose to be an old cottage but even so, it was not very clean. The fan in The kitchen did not work and the beds were super uncomfortable. They are worn out and sag in the middle. Not a restful sleep was had because every time my husband or I rolled over one rolled back to the middle as well. The water pressure is very weak and difficult to shower. The AC can Not be turned above 75’F. During the summer my husband would have been miserable. It is nice to be at the ocean and there are lots of mangroves there and the sunsets are beautiful. Unfortunately the bottom is very soft and as soon as you touch it it stirs up muck and you sink into it. The location is great, there is a local restaurant right around the corner that is great!
