Great country location

We spent a few days in Central Illinois to visit family and enjoy Lake Shelbyville. This property was fantastic. Nice and spacious. We loved the country setting. It was very peaceful. The owners are on property but we never saw them - just a vehicle passing by on the drive. The place had everything we needed to cook meals and keep house so I never needed to reach out. Even the teens and the dogs were happy! If you are looking for local attractions - we enjoyed Lake Shelbyville (especially paddle boarding at Lithia Springs marina), Little Theater on the Square in Sullivan (Hairspray was amazing!), and Okaw Valley Orchard (peach slushes, turnovers and apple cider donuts!). We will definitely come back here if we do a trip like this again. Thank you for a great family vacation!

Family Vacation on the Lake

Wonderful home within close distance to Sullivan marina. Great setup for a family vacation. Plenty of parking for our cars and boat trailer. We enjoyed our time together. My kid’s loved the hot tub and daily visits from the puppy. We will definitely book again next year!

Spacious, clean and country serenity

This is out second stay here - the last time was at Christmas. This time I got to enjoy sitting out on the porch drinking coffee in the mornings. Very nice and peaceful stay!

First time

The space was super clean and Chase was a pleasant visitor. Hot tub was so nice at night we could see so many stars. Will definitely go back and eager to try their other property. This host has it down to a simple science.

Nice quiet location

Loved the rental! It is in excellent condition and the location is centrally located making it a convenient drive to Mattoon or Decatur. Sunsets were beautiful across the open fields. Will definitely be looking at using this location for family visits in the future. Thank you so much!

Sisters weekend!!

We had a wonderful sisters weekend! Location was perfect for everyone to meet. Third year at this location. Best little secret tucked away. Good food, good laughs, good times! We will be back next year!

Amazing sky views

This property was absolutely great all around! The open space, clear sky with the sunset and stars, as well as the silence and privacy was perfect coming from the city. Check in was very easy and communication from the owner was super quick and responsive before and during the trip as well. The fire pit and hot tub did now disappoint! Many house items were also provided. Heads up for any dog owners with reactive dogs, there is a very sweet and friendly outside dog that roams the property. He was not a bother at all, but make sure to communicate with the owner in case your dog is planning to spend time outside. Would very much recommend overall!

Perfect quiet getaway !

This location was absolutely perfect for a peaceful and relaxing weekend! The sunsets were beautiful! The cabin was exactly as described and I instantly felt at home. The owners live nearby and were available if needed. The kitchen and bathroom is well stocked. On our drive home we talked about hopefully being able to rent the cabin again in the future.

Quiet getaway

We wanted a nice quiet spot away from 4th of July fireworks. It was a cute little place. Very dog friendly. Very relaxing. Sullivan Bakery had really good doughnuts. One thought - there were no covered or locking garbage cans inside at all. A dog-friendly property should have those to keep dogs from potentially getting into something they shouldn't.

Hidden gem

This is a beautiful new home complete with all the amenities. Everything was remembered when setting up this home. The hot tub on a starry night is incredible. Plenty of towels are provided too. You won’t find such a great home anywhere near this area. Visit Aikmans Wildlife Adventure and the nearby parks for hiking. Fireworks in Arcola are a huge deal and shouldn’t be missed if you’re here around the 4 th of July. Watch from the hot tub!

The best VRBO house we have ever booked

The house was lovely, clean and well stocked. We enjoyed the relaxation, early morning coffee on the porch and watching the wildlife all around the property. We will definitely be back.
