I had a 30th birthday and wanted to celebrate with all my friends that I made in college. I've always wanted to see bar harbor but have never had the chance to experience it, so I thought that a birthday trip would be the perfect reason. This is the ideal place if you want a getaway that feels like upscaled glamping.
They had everything we needed and more and were terrific at communicating quickly when we weren't certain about how to use things. I've always wanted to stay in a cabin with a glass wall where I could see the forest throughout the day from the comfort and safety of the inside and being able to wake up to that view was ethereal. It was hard for me to resist staying in all day because I wanted to explore Acadia, but the location was so cozy. If you ever decide to stay, I recommend staying for multiple nights so you can make the most of it all.
With a beautiful view and access to the bay from the location, a wonderful assembly of spots for eating and relaxing, and a scenic hour drive (give or take) accessibility from bar harbor and Acadia, it has left me wanting more!
