Overall, my son and I were very happy with our stay. A few things to realize are: you have to climb ladders to get to the loft bedrooms, the only bathroom is on the main floor (so if you have to get up in the middle of the night you have to negotiate the ladder), there is only a tiny refrigerator (think dorm room size), and there is no stove (but there are a couple of electric hot plate type cooking surfaces). None of those things were a detractor for us except maybe the tiny fridge. I would suggest to the owner that they put some steps from the parking to the front porch/deck area. I don’t mind the steepness of the incline but with the small gravel it was very easy to slide and almost fall.
The biggest plus to me was the environment. Even though there were other cabins in the area, you couldn’t see them. You might hear people, but if you couldn’t, you feel like you are in the middle of nowhere. It was beautiful! We took our dogs and they had a lot of fun playing in the woods around the area and walking around with me looking at the other beautiful cabins. It really was ideal even though there are still unfinished areas from construction. I felt like the description of the cabin mostly prepared me for the terrain.
Overall, the cabin and the setting were beautiful and I would highly recommend it. Just realize what you’re getting and what you’re not and whether those things are important to you. We would stay there again.
