However, small improvements could make the stay more comfortable. An extra blanket in addition to sheets, oven mitts, basic cleaning products for the kitchen counters... The gated community made us feel very safe, although there were zero safety concerns. This location is perfect in my opinion due to it's proximity to great places on the island. “We enjoyed our stay at Het Cathaus The place was centrally located close to Wilhhemstad for the nightlife and accessible to beaches in the north (about 45 minutes) and to the south as well (about 20 minutes). The grounds are very nice with a new BBQ, great pool and gardens to sit and enjoy. We were a bit disappointed with the loud construction going on in the house immediately next door overlooking the pool. I didn't fully understand that there would not be air conditioning in the kitchen/living areas and it was hot while we were there but it wasn't a deal breaker.
