Gorgeous Views
This property had everything you could want and more. It was stocked with everything we needed including cooking supplies, beach paraphernalia and more. The villa was very clean and had gorgeous views. We were met by Virgil, who told us where to shop for food and then we followed him to the house. So check in went very smoothly. A few things to mention.
1. While we were there, the island was experiencing power failures. This was certainly not the owner’s fault. But it should be noted that the villa had no backup generator. Every two hours the power cut off for two more hours. On for two, off for two. It was difficult when it was off. It was extremely hot, and we were left in the dark. There were two flashlights but we felt there could have been lanterns or something to provide more light.
2. The bathroom in the bedroom off the kitchen was “open air”. It’s stated in the listing but we didn’t know exactly what that meant. It means there are cutouts in the wall of the shower open to the outside. No screens. So bugs could and did come in. Also, the water pressure in that shower was very weak and the water was either cold or scalding.
3. The third bedroom can only be reached from the outside. It had a very musty smell. We didn’t use that room at all so the smell may have cleared up if we had used the air conditioner.
Other than what has been mentioned, we enjoyed our stay. We loved the pool and the outdoor kitchen.
