This is a nice lakeside chalet in a calm area with not too much vehicular traffic. It's about a 13 min drive to Morin Heights where you can get your groceries at a well stocked IGA and the SAQ is just on the other side of the street. The drive to Saint Sauveur will take a little longer, about 22 min, where you have the outlets for shopping, various restaurants and lots of activities. Speaking as someone who rents chalets often during the year, I have to say I was a little disappointed with this particular chalet for three main reasons.
The first is cleanliness. There are some things that should be cleaned at least once a month that are probably not done in a regular cleaning by the cleaning crew such as kitchen drawers, cupboards and closets. We thought about using the outdoor hot tub but after peeking under the cover, we saw that the bottom of the tub hadn't been vacuumed in a while and therefore lost all interest. Also while I was there, to no fault of the owner, we had a power outage for about 7 hours which required us to start up the fireplace for some heat. To my surprise, I had to remove 2 garbage bags full of ash before I could even begin to place my wood. Also, well I'm on the subject, there was no starter wood nor newspaper to start the fire with and the wood supplied by the owner was all wet so I actually had to go buy dry firewood and starter wood at the IGA which conveniently had free old newspapers right next to their wood.
The second is the overall condition of the place. There were doors that didn't close well, cracks here and there, areas that required paint and a broken tile in the kitchen that squeaked every time you walked over it.
This brings me to my last point which is the price. If you're clients will be paying hundreds of dollars per night once all is said and done with the taxes and cleaning fees included, in my humble opinion, the property should be in tip top shape. We kind of got the feeling that the pictures oversold the place and so disappointment was inevitable for the above-mentioned reasons.
On the bright side, Nathalie was super responsive and helpful. She even let us check out a little later later to compensate us for our troubles during the power outage.
