Severe Security Shortcoming
The home itself and location were absolutely fine. There were two items I absolutely need to mention. One message from the property manager said we would receive the door code 24 hours before check. Instead, I emailed when we were about 22 hours from check in. No response was forthcoming. I emailed again early the morning of the arrival. Still no answer. I emailed yet again about 8.5 hours before check in time, about 1.5 hours before we were scheduled to leave, because we still had not received a code. Finally, we received the door code. I was not willing to drive seven hours to possibly arrive and find we still had not received a code. That concern should not be something a renter has to deal with.
The second item deals with security. I found that every single downstairs window was unlocked. Every one. That is inexcusable. The safety of guests is even more important than the condition of the rental unit. A situation like that is an invitation for something horrible to unfold.
