My reservation was canceled THREE HOURS before check-in. I was LIED to by the property management company, Evolve, and told there was water damage, when in fact it had been double booked, and the renters we spoke to had already been there for days, and still had days left on their reservation. I later saw multiple prior reviews that the EXACT same scenario had happened to prior renters. Both Evolve and VRBO gave me NO help, NO compensation and NOWHERE for me and my 15 family members (including elderly family and an infant!) to go. Communication with Evolve and VRBO was mostly limited to email and phone conversations with 2 people who only offered the standard impersonal company dialog of "we are sorry for the inconvenience and understand your frustration... blah, blah blah..." I was told we were on our own to find somewhere, and their only offer of compensation for the TERRIBLE circumstances they left us in was 200 "Key Cash", and ONLY after I was required to jump through their hoops of sending them PROOF that I had paid in full, which they admitted they already knew, but "that was their policy". UBELIEVABLE! I respectfully declined their "generous" offer! Good luck communicating by phone with anyone from Evolve or VRBO with any authority! This was my 5th year of using VRBO to rent a large place for my many family members for our yearly vacation. They even acknowledged that they saw the record of my prior significant business, but it didn't seem to matter! CALL ME, VRBO!
