This home is on a lovely piece of land on a river with an amazing view from the dock. The house was spacious enough for 3 couples and we felt the kitchen was very well-equipped for cooking in terms of pots, pans, knives, etc. Beware that although the listing says there are kayaks, you cannot put them in the water at the property, it’s too steep. The deck is also pretty wobbly and there are some bees that seem interested in the location, but that didn’t deter us. The rooms were plenty dark and the house was quiet for sleeping, but if you need firm mattresses, these were very soft. You also need to flip a switch on in the living room for hot water, which we learned the hard way. The wifi worked well for us but also beware that there is no cell service and no house phone. When we had a question for the hosts, we had to drive 10-15 minutes away to ask them. Our issue was a very strong-smelling cleaning product that had been left in the house, and the hosts were very accommodating and helpful when we got in touch with them. Just had to leave to get a quick answer. Last issue was there wasn’t much privacy in the Jack and Jill bathroom if that is being shared between friends—the sliding door didn’t close all the way. My impression is that this is a new Vrbo and the hosts want to make it nice and will be accommodating, but certain kinks hadn’t been worked out yet. I imagine some of what I’ve written here would already be fixed by the next time someone rents the home, they’re just things that I would’ve wanted to know when I booked. It’s a nice price for the location and space.
