Good but could have been better

With the price I paid I was expecting a cleaner place to stay. The couch and love seats were very comfy, but the place was not cleaned very well. The toilets had yellow bowls and the upper level shower floor was not cleaned. The kitchen/dining room area floor was dirty and had old food that was stuck to the floor. I did like that they had Roku TV. My kids were very happy with that. The area was good. But personally for the price I will be looking for a different place to stay next time.

Beware

The lock on the door did not work, the manager walked us through several different codes. Then they said there’s a lock box on the side. We worked through several different codes ,one finally worked after a half an hour. Went inside the place was dated but OK that night when we went to our bedrooms, the master bedroom had a bed that looked like you were going down a slide. The twin bed on the bottom floor was the same way the box springs on both of them were totally broken and listening to one side. The range above the stove had no safety guard no filter. It was a grease fire waiting to happen. One side of the house the breakers went out several times after calling the manager they said we could have a blowup mattress. The range never was fixed reading other reviews. Nothing has been fixed except for the toilets. It’s a great location, but that’s all it has going for itself The range above the stove had no

The TV didn't work at all, Dog poop by front steps, only two tall pans to cook with, very dirty, bags of garbage left in living room with bathroom mess, futon very dirty, Kitchen lights out, alot of broken fixtures, dirty cleaning gloves on the floor, sheets smelly so did not use and brought own blankets.

Will not rent again.

Location was great. Rental was not so great. TV did not work, ceiling fan did not work, stains on the sheets, yikes. The couch arm rest is broken and kept falling off when you sit down, But had a great time at the lake. Would not recommend this rental unit. Vacasa should have a standard for what they are renting but I think the $ forces them to sacrifice quality.

Comments for property management

The bottom front lock spun and would not lock. There was a significant amount of water in the refrigerator on the top shelf and under the crispers that is likely coming from the freezer. The kettle is falling apart and is leaving metal pieces in the water. Our stay was good and enjoyable. Just wanted someone to address the above issues for those who will be staying next.

Very spacious home. I loved that there were lots of blankets and heaters in each room. Close to the restaurants/Shops etc. They had the exact amount of dining chairs for us.

Almost perfect

There were two reasons it wasn’t five stars. There was a bit of an ant problem. They came with some ant bait but it didn’t get rid of them. The second is that the remote to the cable didn’t work. Both were fairly minor first world problems but still annoyances. Other than that everything was great. Clean sheets, nice clean towels, everything else we could have needed. The cabin was very clean and neat when we walked in. Definitely recommend.

It serves it’s purpose....

The cabin is very basic. I stayed for 2 nights for a 4 bedrooms/2 bath. So, for the price, it was not bad. The good: It’s located near town! You can walk to all the shops. All the heaters work good. Plenty of towels and blankets provided. Lots of toilet paper. There is cable TV with movie channels! If there is snow, a service person will come by and shovel the deck. Neighbors are close but super nice! The bad: The kitchen is outdated and so are the pots/pans. No dishwasher. Washer is loud! Bring your own detergent. Dryer works but the lint holder falls out. The downstairs bathroom door does not close all the way and the water leaks out. We had a fuse blow out twice and had to call to locate the fuse box. The sofa pillows had a strong animal odor. There is random old photos of people all around the home, which I found to be unwelcoming. I won’t be renting this cabin again but it served its purpose. Thank you.

Beautiful cabin, easy to reach location close to all amenities and main road. Perfect

This was our first time up at Shaver Lake, and we’d planned to go snowboarding and also do a bit of exploring around the two lakes. This cabin was perfect for our needs, the size to accommodate our family, the amenities to help us relax after a busy day and the proximity to the lakes and China peak were more than we could have asked for.

Rustic vacation home at reasonable rates

Access was a problem, as the door access code did not work. After contacting the Vacasa main office to obtain the access code to the adjacent lockbox, we were finally able to get in. The furnishings are spartan but adequate. There is no dishwasher, and the headroom of one of the upstairs closets is somewhat restricted by the sloping roof. On the plus side, the rent is reasonable, it has four roomy bedrooms, and it is located near the center of town. It served us well as a home base for hikes into the surrounding Sierra National Forest.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay with only some problems with the cleanliness.

My family and I enjoyed staying at the cabin. The home was very welcoming and the owner was quick to respond to any questions we had prior to our stay. Unfortunately, I was extremely disappointed in the cleanliness of the property; especially in the bathrooms. However, overall we all thought the cabin was beautiful and in the perfect location near the town and all the activities. Thank you!
