Seward Scenic Alaska River Cottage

Mi esposa Jennifer y yo elegimos este lugar en Trail River para criar a nuestros hijos debido a su increíble belleza. Trail River Gardens se encuentra a solo 20 minutos de Seward en el corazón de las montañas Chugach en el hermoso río Trail. Desde nuestra cubierta, el río está a solo 50 pies de distancia con el majestuoso Monte Madison como un salto hacia atrás. Hay lagos encima y debajo de nosotros con montañas en todos los lados. Puedes caminar por senderos hasta más lagos de montaña. Si te gusta caminar y observar aves y otros animales salvajes, entonces te encantará aquí en los jardines de Trail River.

Awesome property
This was a great place for our family trip. The property is beautiful next to the river with beautiful gardens. Russ and Jennifer were Very friendly. They even gave us a homemade Jar of rhubarb compote which was delicious. There is no living room just 3 bedrooms with queen beds amd 2 have Murphy beds 3 bathrooms kitchen and deck.We spent our time on the deck and by the firepit when the mosquitos werent too bad. I read in past reviews that there was no oven not oven is listed. We were able to use the grill amd the conduction plate to make our breakfasts amd dinner. Just had to be a little creative. Would definitely recommend if you don’t need an oven or living room it’s a wonderful property 30 min from Seward

Beautiful location. River right off deck is beautiful saw a moose crossing the ruver Clean but carpet in bedrooms quite old. 3 queen sz beds About 30 minutes to seward longer with road construction considering the price it was fine

Beautiful riverside views
We had a nice stay and enjoyed the river and garden views. The house is set up like a hunter's cabin with three master bedrooms but no living room, so we gathered around the kitchen table. In the kitchen there is a microwave, refrigerator and coffee maker but no stove/oven. There is an induction hot plate but only one small pan that can be used with it. If the weather is good you can cook outside on the excellent barbecue with side burner that can handle the larger pots and pans. There actually is a washer and dryer available. The owners were helpful and we really enjoyed meeting them. Overall this was a great base for exploring Seward and the Kenai peninsula.

Natural Beauty
We had an amazing stay here. The location is perfect. We went into Seward every day. Seward is a little crowded and touristy so it was nice to come back to this cottage and stay in the beautiful nature of Alaska. Cooper's Landing is an even shorter drive than Seward and also a great little town to see. Plenty of little hikes all over and Kenai Fjords has a beautiful hike up to Harding Icefields. The cottage itself is situated on an amazing creek

sweet place, great location, wonderful hosts
We had an amazing stay at Crown Point. The location was perfect for everything we wanted to do on the Kenai Peninsula. The hosts provided many extras such as goodies from their vegetable garden, bear spray (never needed), bug spray (much needed), instant oatmeal, many pantry staples, and views of their gorgeous flower beds. My only constructive criticism would be 1) as mentioned elsewhere the photo of the view from the deck is THEIR deck, not the VRBO view and 2) we didn't really get communication about check in. We just drove up and luckily jennifer happened to be on our deck. Not sure we would've known what to do or walked into the right building if she wouldn't have been there. Their home is on the same property as the VRBO along with several other outbuildings. But the property was super comfortable (think Grandma's best worn in quilts), clean, and well situated. As far as not having a stove - that did provide some challenges but we learned about the induction hot plate halfway through our stay and used it to cook our eggs the rest of the stay. Highly recommend this property!

Beautiful location
Beautiful property with great views! Very convenient location for travel to Seward. Each bedroom has its own bath which was perfect for three couples. Fire pit was awesome to grill steaks for our dinners! Hosts were very friendly and accommodating! Would highly recommend!

Trail River Rustic Cabin
We enjoyed our stay here at this rustic cabin. The ultimate highlight was watching a bill moose walk down the river one morning! Amazing!! My son also caught trout from the river that he cooked over the fire pit, which was awesome! The cabin is more rustic which we were aware of. Knowing about the lack of stove/oven did help us prepare ahead of time, but it does limit you somewhat. Overall, we had a great stay. Thank you Jennifer and Russ!

Convenient stop between Seward and Homer
Nice bedrooms (super comfy and soft beds) with baths, lovely garden, rushing creek and a bonfire by the creek. We didn’t realize that there isn’t a living room so to hang out you hang out by a table in the kitchen or deck. Not a huge deal except when it won’t quit raining.

Fabulous
We stayed in this cute cabin for 2 nights. When we got there we were able to chat with Russ (owner), he is a great guy. If we all ahdnt been so hungry we wluld have stayed and chatted longer. The bedrooms were big and rommie along with the bathrooms. The kitchen was big enough for all six of us to play games at night. The last night Russ stalked the firewood pile for us and we had a fire. Listening to the fire crackle and the river made for a peaceful evening. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. Also while you are in town check out the small gift shop on town with the talking moose.

Great stay in a well-kept rustic cabin
We had a wonderful stay in this cabin about a half hour north of Seward. We appreciated knowing ahead of time that there was no stove, and the induction hot plate and toaster/convection oven were great. The beds were incredibly comfy and the property was very clean and well-stocked. Although the first picture is misleading (not the deck or view from the cabin), the actual view and deck (other photos with red paint) are still beautiful. It's also worth pointing out that, as pictured, there's no 'living' space with couches or chairs to relax in - only dining table chairs inside and on the deck or beds. We saw several bald eagles and the area was very quiet and close to several hiking trails, so we would happily stay again!

Awesome cabin and Host. Everything as advertised. Short drive to Seward even with the road construction. Scenery was breathtaking. Wake up in the morning listening to the river at the base of the mountains.

Loved our stay
Loved our stay here. It was just far enough away from the city of Seward but close enough to run in town and see all the sights. The house is a bit older but was still a great spot to call home for 5 days. Beds we’re comfortable and the grill looked brand new. No conventional stove and Wi-Fi was not available in the bedrooms. It was fine as long as you were in the kitchen area. Great host!

What a view
This is a great house that is right on the river with mountain views. Each bedroom has its own bath which worked great for us. Russ was a great host and answered all our questions. Would definitely recommend staying here when in the area!

Very clean, large comfortable bedrooms with private bathrooms, but very limited kitchen, no oven or stove top, very inadequate for the number of people who can stay in this house (9 total!). There is no living room so any gathering has to be done around the kitchen table in what is quite a small kitchen. Since it was raining quite a bit we were not able to use the back deck hardly at all. In sunny weather that deck would have afforded more space for everyone. If you are bringing dinners to finish making like we were, it was quite difficult to get everything heated and cooked in the toaster oven and a hot plate. Thankfully there was a burner on the grill outside but whoever cooked out there was in the rain. Sort of felt like we were camping actually. But we made it work and had a great time. A roof over the deck would be a huge improvement.

What a wonderful property, right on the Trail River. Cottage was amazing, 3 bedroom and 3 baths, what a rarity to find, and the hosts were super friendly and very welcoming. We would definitely stay here again!

Nice little cottage
Very clean. Owner very friendly. Raspberry bushes all around the property made for a nice snack! Only downside was no stove (there is an induction burner, toaster oven and grill) which made dinner a little challenging for 8, but we managed.

We arrived to a beautiful little cottage by the river. It was perfect. Thank you to Jennifer.
The property was big enough and comfortable. There were 4 people and we all had plenty of room. The road going into Seward is under construction so plan ahead for wait times while it may close for a few hours or minutes. Jennifer was very informational about the area and we even got to hike with her. It was lovely. I would recommend this property and could not ask for nicer host and hostess.
