My partner and I booked a 2 day stay, and our experience was beyond horrible. Upon our arrival, we noticed that the whole space was dusty. We figured ok, some dust is not a big deal so we began to wipe down surfaces ourselves, but when we went to use the restroom, we were so thrown off! We found hairs in the sink and bathtub, and the toilet had grime and even a poop stain on the toilet seat. We also found kitchen pans with dead insects, and food crumbs in them. This is when we realized the space had not been cleaned at all, and considering COVID, we became extremely concerned for our health safety. We called the host, Mr. Wayne, to express our concerns. His response was that he'd check in with his wife, and would get back to us within 2 hours. We texted back stating we had already spent over 1 hour cleaning the space ourselves (except the bathroom), and that waiting another 2 hours to be able to use a clean restroom, especially after a long drive, seemed very unreasonable. Soon after that, his wife called us. She was very rude and dismissive, and denied that the bathroom was dirty. We had already taken pictures and texted them to her husband, so we invited her to look at the pictures, or to come to the apartment to take a look herself. She came over, took a look, and finally admitted that the bathroom wasn't clean. She then proceeded to start wiping things down with Lysol. As she cleaned, she also mentioned that another guest had been in the space up until that morning. We became even more concerned about the space not being cleaned, especially considering someone else had been there up until the day we arrived. At that point, we had spent at least 4 hours of our 1st day stay dealing with this very unpleasant situation. We expressed the stress this had caused, to which she responded, "what else do you want?" My partner, being a nurse midwife, expressed that we can't undermine unsanitary conditions, especially during COVID. She "thanked" my partner for her service, and proceeded to leave. After further discussing, my partner and I decided it would be best for us to leave the next day, which we did. Considering the horrible situation we encountered, and the fact that we left a day early, we requested a full refund, which they denied. As I packed our car to leave, my partner got on the phone with Turn Key to file a complaint. They texted us to leave their property immediately. We left feeling humiliated, disrespected, and robbed. DO NOT BOOK HERE!
