Good hotel but awful customer service
"The hotel is nice but I had a terrible experience as a customer. I had a reservation from 22/02 until 24/02. I had to arrive late at the hotel due to personal reasons and I had not seen that I had to call in advance so that they can prepare a late arrival. The check-in time limit was 18:00 and I called them around 21:30 to ask if the restaurant was still open, and to my surprise they told me that not only the restaurant was closed, but so was the hotel. They also told me that 1) it was not possible to open it because there was nobody there; 2) I had to find another place to stay that night and 3) it would be out of my own pocket. I told the lady that I had a child with me, and she just said to me: "this is not my problem". After further discussions she was able to provide a room for that night in another hotel just across the street. She also told me that it was not possible to get my original room that night because it had been already sold to somebody else.
What really amazes me is why they did not call me to ask if I was going to arrive late, given that I was not there before 18:00. They simply did nothing and sold my room to another person. If they had not done that, we could make an arrangement to get the keys for the apartment, or even they could have left it hidden somewhere, but of course this was not possible as the room was occupied.
