I chose this property based on my basic filters for renting. We prefer a king bed, two bathrooms, a gas range, a fireplace indoors and a firepit outdoors. The best thing about this place is the location, although it's not really that close to downtown. There some cool things about this place and some very disappointing aspects. There is a comfy bed, decent water pressure, and nice area to hang out in upstairs. The sofa is not comfortable and that is the only upholstered seating. Bring all of your own spices, oil for cooking and some wooden or metal spatulas. The pots are stainless steal and the cooking utensils are plastic. There is no Tupperware, ziploc bags, foil, or plastic wrap so bring what you need.
The Floor level toilet rocks which is unsettling. The wall heater upstairs is inoperable, yes pilot light was on.
Space heaters only and no instructions in binder as stated for anything at all. You will be looking to try and find lights for certain areas. Ceiling fan light in kitchen burnt out. No fire pit outside as advertised. A sign not to turn on electric fireplace inside, therefore inoperable or unsafe for whatever reason.
Front porch light burn out, unsafe for security and for walking into unit after dark. We replaced the bulb. There's also a dangerous space outside the front door with rocks in it and can catch you off guard when it's dark. No house number on unit, had to guess which door to try, which my husband was unhappy about having to do.
Back gate not closed all of the way, so not locked or secure. We closed it. Bedrooms in windows were not locked. There were cobwebs and the place was dusty. It's not by the road directly so the cleaning person just didn't take the time. The Tv downstairs was tilted upward and unable to be adjusted for use, something incorrect in mounting. So even with all of these funky things, we would go back because we know what to expect. However, a place should be as advertised with all of the fees and such piles onto the nightly rate. The fireplace upstairs should be accessible and or the lights for ambience. No lightbulbs should be burnt out. It was rainy, cold, and wet. We needed heat inside and would have enjoyed a fire outside. I understand if there was a concern for the fire to cause a spark or something but the photos showed a screen. A gas gutter pit could easily solve this problem also.
