My First Experience
I’ve had positive experiences with VRBO in the past. This is my first negative experience. Unfortunately, VRBO — with recent boom of owner- owned properties — has not been able to establish full quality control. This property is not advertised accurately and just wasn’t clean. Simply put, it not appropriate for a family. I’d clearly explained that I needed an extra bed and that all my children were 18 or over—the host put an IKEA crib. One of my children is a type 1 diabetic and allergic to cats —- cat urine, or what the host later explained was due to rainfall permeated the entire rental. There were also huge roaches, one pictured here. Finally. My husband had to book a stay — last minute— at a San Juan Hotel. Jessica and Oscar promised a refund and it never came and they did not respond to my texts and correspondence. I am out a few thousand dollars and heartbroken. I hope the owners and VRBO fix this situation and not subject another family to this type of experience.
