Hidden Garden near Balboa Park
We had a wonderful stay at this property. Kent was a gracious host and gave us great recommendations for restaurants and places to see. The one bedroom apartment is spacious and comfortable. There are big windows everywhere so it is bright and cheery. The windows overlook the fantastic gardens that Kent has build over the years. Every view makes you feel like you are in a tropical paradise. The apartment was very clean and all the amenities we needed were provided. We hope to be back soon. It is the perfect resting spot for us when we visit family in San Diego. The proximity to Balboa Park is nice and being close to North Park and South Park neighborhoods is a big plus.

A lovely getaway
We couldn't have chosen any better place to get away from the Oregon gloom where we live. A beautiful, calming place with plants galore and right by Balboa Park! Our host was wonderful too and very helpful. We'll be back!

Treetop - A Gem
The Treetop property was simply immaculate! The host (Kent) was a super-host as he warm, accommodating and even provided some fresh vegetables from his garden. The kitchen was very complete down to the coffee and multiple spices. The bedroom very comfortable as was the living room. The bathroom was spotless and had plenty of towels. Outside was a tropical paradise.

Tropical Retreat
This was hands down the nicest rental we have ever booked through VRBO. It was charmingly furnished, immaculate and well provisioned. We had a lovely courtyard with a fountain, hummingbirds, and lovely tropical vines to ourselves. The owner has created a beautiful, relaxing retreat that is located within walking distance of trails, Balboa Park, and a shopping district. Looking forward to booking another stay in the future.

Another wonderful visit...
Repeat visitor to Treetop. We love the location, property, and cleanliness. As always, Kent was a fantastic host, gracious and helpful. Don't hesitate if you are sitting on the fence or weighing a beach rental, it's a great play to stay and explore San Diego. You can get to the beaches in no time (or out East), and North & South Park are dynamic neighborhoods to eat, shop, and drink.

Garden Oasis
Our host met with us to show us the amazing gardens surrounding this stunning property. which included a porch off the living room and our own garden patio area. There were small oases cleverly tucked in all over the property, which was blooming with Bird of Paradise plants. The property was immaculate, and it had everything we needed, down to ice packs for a lunch. The location was fabulous, with restaurant suggestions from the host in walking distance. We would definitely return to the property, and we would highly recommend it to others.

WOW!
This place is simply outstanding. A 1920's craftsman home that Kent has lovingly restored to its full glory. He made a career of high-end rehabs and the quality, care, and attention to detail show in every square foot. A very large 1-br apartment with 2 decks, a big patio and front porch and complete privacy. There's a very interesting bookshelf and Kent even let me borrow one on the promise to return it the next time we are in town. Off street parking in a very quiet neighborhood, just outside of Balboa Park. Quiet, quiet, quiet. This is the place we will try to stay every time we come to town.

Paradise on earth!
Kent was an amazing host and has a gorgeous property that we fell in love with. It is a large, comfortable space surrounded by lush gardens he maintains with utmost care and precision. Open the windows to enjoy fresh air from the fruit and flowering trees while listening to all the exotic birds and zen fountains. Excellent location and wonderful neighborhood, close to the expressway, Balboa Park, and lots of delightful food and drink options nearby.

Wonderful property, with even more wonderful host
Obviously from all other reviews, this property and location are amazing, with beautiful gardens to enjoy, and easy walking to so many fun spots in North Park, South Park, Balboa. Kent was so easy to connect with, and communicated quickly at all times. The house is a perfect size for 2 people. Bed is comfortable and large! The shower has shampoo/conditioner/soap available, it has great hot water and pressure, and lots of fluffy towels to use afterwards. We grilled twice during our stay, and enjoyed the ease of the grill, the relaxing environment of the patio with water feature and pretty pergola over the seating area. It is also great to have washer/dryer available, as we were there for the SD 1/2 marathon and had clothes to clean after running! Kent and his home made for wonderful memories and experiences during our trip. Thanks!

From the moment we walked in we felt at home. All our needs had been considered and provided for. The location was outstanding. Kent's suggestions on dining and things to do were spot on.
