We were thrilled with our stay in our cozy beach cottage steps away from the ocean. It had all the amenities we could ask for and more. It was home away from home, but with an ocean! Our host, Carmen was friendly & accommodating.
Location - location - location was the key to our stay. We could walk the beach in either direction. I collected treasures and even saw a Piping Plover. Up the beach was a quaint fun spot for pizza, seafood, ice cream, coffee or even arcade antics. In nearby Newburyport, we did a whale watch that did not disappoint, shopped, and ate at some fantastic seafood restaurants. Not far from there is Newbury where The Parker River National Wildlife Refuge is. There was hiking in the marsh & dunes, water birds aplenty, and lovely spots for hitting the beach. North of Salisbury was Hampton Beach, and the acclaimed sand sculptures (end of June). Just another short drive was Exeter where my husband attended classes. History (American Independence Museum), shopping, good eats, and the Phillips Exter campus were spectacular. Just an hour away was Salem with all of its history and mystery. We particularly enjoyed the local shops Leeward Light Thrift Store and Costal Finds Marketplace. There was so much to see and do. simply incredible!
Even though there were tons of opportunities you would be just fine with the breezy cottage and the beach at any time of day or night. You don't need anything more, because this place is something special.
