“With a long 4-day weekend on the calendar, we looked for a place we hadn't been to that wasn't too far. This was it! Elk Bend is a small community between Challis and Salmon. The town doesn't have a lot of ammenities, so come prepared with what you need or plan a commute to the Saveway in Salmon. The only restaurant in town--the Dusty Mule--had great burgers and the half plate of Nachos was enough for 3-4 (We took half home). The home is exceptionally clean with hardwood floors throughout. “We stayed here while coming in for a hunting and fishing trip. It was perfect for the 5 adults that stayed. Only downfall is the 4th bedroom is a small cabin/ house in the back yard detached from the house but still nice and usable. The house had been recently renovated and was very nice. Would highly recommend staying here. ”

“This place was exactly as advertised and a great pre-hunt base camp. Very close to beautiful public lands, nestled in the town of Leadore, and lots of space for larger groups. All the amenities I needed, would recommend for other folks passing through or hunting groups.”

“It was really great! Beds, living room, kitchen, HOT TUB! outdoor seating, fence!!!!! So very very nice. 1 bathroom sorta small but just fine. The only problem is the lighting. All BRIGHT TOP lights too much, and NO LAMPS for reading in bed and a more ambient light. But it looks new and like a work in progress. Really really great for our visit to Salmon. Thank you”

“The property itself was beautiful. We had to search for the way down tot he river. The home wasn’t super clean. The animals in the house were pretty dusty and a lot of cobwebs. Some of the appliances didn’t work. ”

“We really enjoyed our time. The layout works well, and all the rooms not only flowed well but were what one would expect from a much larger traditional home. Views of the valley and distant mountains were beautiful at sunset and sunrise. And only 1 mile from downtown. ”

“Came to visit our grandsons with our 2 little dogs. Nice quiet home. It is in country be careful with your small animals due to wildlife that could be around. We would stay again. Just side note for anyone that uses a hair dryer there isnt one here or if there was i totally overlooked it but that was nit a big deal. ”

“We own a couple of vacation rentals, so we know that the things that need upgrading seriously are: The beds-get new ones that are comfortable. Change from double beds to at least queens. Get much better towels. Get much better bed linens: the sheets were flimsy and when we took the linens off the bed we saw that the pillows were stained.....get new and better pillows. Most of us dont's like to do housework on vacation. Clean up the cabin yourselves after departure. Get a cart to use to...

The hosts were very accommodating, allowing us to store our coolers and food bags in their laundry room the night before our check in day so they didn’t have to sit outside in the 90 degree heat.
