View has changed
We loved this house, it was super clean & check in was easy. Lots of space to spread out, there’s an empty lot next door which was perfect for letting the dogs out and a fabulous mudroom downstairs. We had room to park a boat and used the garage to cook all the crab we caught. 3 bathrooms for 3 couples was such a bonus, it was easy to get comfy and not worry about sharing, timing showers, etc. Beach access was a 2 minute walk, the neighbors were friendly, and the street was quiet. Just be aware: a house now sits on the empty lot you see in the pictures, blocking the ocean view. Not a deal breaker but you might be disappointed if you were expecting to see the beach from your window. Overall, a great rental!

Would stay here again
This house has two living areas, which is great if you want some separation of adults and kids! The windows on the beach-side provide lots of natural light. The wrap-around deck was amazing, and the crow's nest allowed us to watch the sunset, and one morning we were up early enough to face the other direction and watch the sunrise over the hillside. Lots of dishes in the kitchen, although the pots and pans could be updated. We couldn't find a pot and lid that fit together. The utensils have seen better days. The coffee pot lid was broken, but we could still hit the cup OK! There are a couple of little places that need repair, but nothing that bothered our stay. The large utility room was a great place to take off our shoes and brush down the dogs. Entry to the beach is basically right across the street. Rockaway is a cute little town with fun things to see and do.

Issues with check-in, fireplace, screen doors, etc.
This is a nice house, but the pictures are outdated and misleading. The house did, at one point, have an ocean view from the inside of the house. However, a house has been constructed since the photos were taken, and now you only see the ocean if you walk up to the small rooftop seating area. It’s priced as a house with an ocean view and with the higher prices you expect for that premium perk. Before booking this reservation, I reached out to Vacasa to confirm that the issue with check-in codes that many other prior renters mentioned in their reviews had been resolved. I was informed that the issue was resolved. However when we arrived, the door codes that we were sent were inaccurate, and after spending a fair bit of time and then finally reaching out to Vacasa, we were given a code that worked. After driving for hours with two young kids in tow, it was disappointing that it took so long to get into the property. Inside the house, there is a sign on the fireplace that says to look in the binder for instructions for how to use the gas fireplace. There was no binder. We again called Vacasa, and they sent out a very nice man who also had trouble figuring out the fireplace. After about 30 minutes, he was able to get the fireplace to work, but it was another disappointing experience for this price point. The house has gorgeous floor to ceiling sliding doors, but there are no screens on the doors. The deck is not enclosed, so we could not open up the doors to get a breeze unless we opened them up a tiny bit because we did not want our dog or small child to wander out of the door, onto the deck, and go down the stairs. It’s a small thing, but perplexing why there are no screen doors on these sliding doors. It also would help to keep out insects. Finally, the house is lacking in some very basic items that most rentals have, including things like cooking spray and basic condiments. Not the end of the world, but given that this is a house that clearly is rented by larger parties who likely will be cooking at least breakfast at the house, it would be appreciated if there were some of these basic items in the kitchen, which we have had at every other VRBO rental. And the mattress in the smaller bedroom upstairs sags a bit and has seen better days.

Unclean house, locked out because wrong code was given, poor help from VRBO call center.
The location and layout of the house were fantastic, but many things were left undone, unclean, and unusable. We were given the wrong code to the lockbox to get the key. Three phone calls with promises that someone would be in touch, they finally gave us the correct code. Dishes and pots and pans were in the cupboards and filthy. The house was not fully clean. The dishtowels reaked of mildew. There was only one pillow on the master king bed. The garbage can was completely full with nowhere to put our trash. The propane tanks were both empty. The pilot light to the fireplace was shut off. The lampshade in the bedroom was covered in stains. Two of the toilets were leaking from the base of the toilet all weekend. The oven door came off when we used the oven the first time. Many, many things and time taken out of our vacation to get fixed. The local housekeeping manager was the only bright spot in all of this as she coordinated to get things fixed and provided a partial refund for our troubles. Not sure I'll ever use a Vrbo propert again.

House was nice but as many others commented before. Code for lock box was wrong.
I would encourage owners/property managers to fix lock box issue. We had to sit in a cold car with an infant for 45 minutes until someone came to let us in. Also alarm kept beeping until then came and disconnected. Otherwise house was nice but did get hot when sun was out. Overall enjoyed stay

Nice house. Comfy for our family of four. Pingpong was a great bonus. Like others, had trouble getting in. Had to call Vacasa for help. Expected that would happen after reading other reviews, so no surprise, and not a big deal. Although would be nice if they could get that figured out.

We loved the house once we were able to get in but there were significant challenges and frustration with the instructions to get in the house. The main living area was perfect for hanging out together. The king bed was really uncomfortable but couldn’t sleep in downstairs bedroom because the security system was chirping intermittently the whole time we were there.

Great Location Near Rockaway and Manzanita
We had a wonderful long weekend at this property! The location could not be beat being just steps away from direct beach access. The house was also just down the street from Manhattan Beach State Park, which made for a fun/quick bike ride. The neighborhood was quiet and lovely! The house itself was spacious and perfect for our group of 5. We really enjoyed the crow’s nest which provided lovely views of the ocean and sunset. The only areas of concern for us: The combination sent for the keys was not correct :( I believe that this was mentioned in a previous review. We definitely recommend calling the local Vacasa number on the sign out front as opposed to the main customer service 800#. Once we got through, someone was dispatched to the home very quickly - which was very appreciated! It was also a good thing because we also needed help disarming the security system. Once inside, the home was very clean other the stained carpet in the living room. (Which didn’t bother us - we have kids- but mentioning it for others!) There was also a faint scent of kitty litter which seemed to dissipate as the weekend went on. Pretty minor in the grand scheme of things! All in all, it was a great trip and we would rent this property again. Thank you!

The Keypad number had changed. We called for the code. Nice, clean, and we’ll-equipped kitchen. Carpet needs to be changed. Freshly painted. It was a great place for our family to meet up for the Christmas vacation!

First time on the Coast
Awesome access to the beach! Cool breezes off water keep house comfortable. West facing windows — great light, also heat up space. A/C no impact on daily heating.. Laundry convenient. Hot water / bathrooms fine. Carpeting is old and stained. Kitchen is well stocked (could use some new pots & pans). Overall, great place to stay. Quiet location, close enough to towns of Rockaway Beach, Manzanita, and Cannon Beach for shopping and dining.

Nice but...
We loved the house but it could and should have been cleaner. We also had trouble getting in. The code we were given for access did not work and we were not able to get in or get in touch with anyone until the housekeeper just happened to come by because she wasn’t finished in the house yet. This was at about 5:30 and check in was at 4:00. I had also emailed prior to our stay with a question (no phone number) and they still have never answered my question...

Comfortable place to stay with easy walking distance to the beach. Quiet neighborhood. Needs serious deep cleaning - the floors had not been cleaned in months and the dish ware and cabinets greasy. We had a good time, but if you’re squeamish about stains on the couch or really wanted to use a pool table - this is not the place for you. Easy walking distance to the beach - a hose to wash off with - and a great view from the widows walk. Not enough silverware for the eight of us, no laundry detergent (though they ask you to run a load), and not enough garbage bags. Couldn’t find a decent cookie sheet either. Pleasant, but run down. We enjoyed our visit, but then we expected “rustic.” And .. nearest grocery store is in Tillamook so plan ahead!!
