I very much enjoyed my stay on Roatan Island and this property went a long way in making it memorable. For starters, Dewayne, the property manager, was courteous and professional; always responding promptly to the various issues that came up. It was much appreciated when he followed me to the airport in case any issues came up with my rental car (I deemed it a necessary precaution seeing as how I didn't have phone service).
A great renovation job and top notch cleanliness made the place as comfortable as could be. And the rooftop sundeck (with ocean view, of course) is a phenomenal tranquil escape. One thing about the location is that it's about 5 miles from the
main tourist drag, where, from what I could tell, many of the restaurants and dive shops are located. Now if you plan on doing a substantial amount of driving on Roatan and you have that Western sensibility of always being on well-paved roads, you're in for a bit of an adjustment phase. The main island road
is under construction in a few stretches and in others you really have to proceed cautiously.
Now while the property is on a tranquil, beachfront lot, the access road at the rear is not so much of a road as it is a very
bumpy passage way. If you're into off-roading you'll be in your element. But who knows, once you get used to this condition, you may find it lends to the place a certain charm. Seeing as how this place used to be a bar I can only hope intoxicated patrons chose to sleep on the beach.
