There is a fire station near this property. The first day/night we were there they went on several runs from 6pm to 12:30am. The noise didn’t bother the adults in our house but it is something to consider. The host was very responsive to this next issue, there was a homeless person right next to the house in the bushes in the private lot adjacent to the house. Though the host was very responsive to my messages, there was nothing she or the police could do about the situation because the person was on private property and not causing a disturbance. They did stop on the sidewalk and stand in front of the house the first night and watch as we entered the house around 10pm. It definitely made us feel uneasy arriving later in the evening back to the house. The kitchen was newly renovated, the bathrooms were nice, the bedrooms had newer furnishings but not updated. The house is older and had an old house smell, if you are sensitive to smells it may be a problem. We saw quite a few bugs, ants, ladybugs, cockroaches - it is an old house with lots of cracks so bugs are expected. There is central air but there are 2 window a/c units - one upstairs and one in the living room. The house is advertised as with Historic Oakwood in the name, this house is not in the Oakwood district, it is a couple blocks outside this area.
