A Nice Getaway That Is Not Too Far Away
The lighthouse is a custom built building on the end of a peninsula outlooking the bay. The lighthouse is on the same property as the owners home which is about 100 yards away. The lighthouse is itself is such a cool place to stay and is very cozy. Small full bathroom, kitchen, electric heater, plates, utensils, cups, toaster, microwave, mini fridge, electric heater, and dining are on the first level. On the second level there is a perfect size bedroom with a comfy bed, TV, electric heater, and a wrap around balcony. To get to the second level you need to climb up a steep and tight fitting ladder so be sure you are able to physically able to do this before renting. Outside there is a bonfire pit and you can request firewood prior. I guess you can rent kayaks if you ask prior. The sights during sunset, nighttime, and sunrise were spectacular. We didn’t find much to do in Bay City so it was nice to just hangout and play games at the lighthouse. The lighthouse does have some books, DVD movies, chess, and checkers to play. We stayed just one night and had a fun day in Frankenmuth.
