The title and description of the property both said that there was a wood-burning fireplace, but when my friends and I arrived, we discovered a sign in the stone fireplace saying "Please do not use the fireplace. Thank you." We contacted Vacasa, the property manager, and they replied to me (via text) a few hours later, saying that there was no fireplace listed in the amenities. I pointed out that the title of the property is "Tranquil & renovated dog-friendly home with mountain views, fireplace, W/D, AC" and that the description also included the following sentence, "if you start feeling cold, the wood-burning fireplace will keep you nice and warm all day, every day." The day before, I had texted Vacasa asking if the home included firewood or if we should bring our own. Vacasa replied saying to bring our own, so we did. We were extremely disappointed to find the fireplace not available, because we had specifically chosen this property after looking at other houses in the area and wanted to have an indoor fireplace to stay cozy, as advertised. Vacasa did not give us any sort of refund or discount.
In terms of the other reasons to stay here, yes, as advertised, the view of the mountains is superb ("breathtaking" is not too strong a word!) and the house is big and clean. The beds were comfortable, the bathrooms were great, and the kitchen, living room (TV, etc) were all terrific. We enjoyed both Quechee and Woodstock, not too far away.
